  1. You'd think when the starter is throwing first pitch strikes 90% of the time that someone would swing at one
  2. I thought you weren't allowed to argue a reviewed call? Gonzalez should be ejected lol
  3. You couldn't 100% determine if the glove was hitting his jaw when his hand touched the plate I'd guess
  4. Dodgers must love having 3 pitchers up in a row
  5. Now the defense goes to horsefeathers. That's when you know they are pressing.
  6. They just keep peppering us with strikes and we find ourselves down 0-2 and 1-2. Our pitchers are always behind in the count. This is so frustrating
  7. Sorry I'm an ass and am rooting for the Dodgers if the Cubs don't win. If the Indians win, the next most recent championship drought (as in teams that have won one before) becomes the 1979 Pirates
  8. Actually kind of surprised by this. I get the extra rest, but he's still spending less innings on the mound this way if the series goes 7. Pretty sure the Dodgers are confident there won't be a G7, and/or they're so confident in Hill after last night that they're banking on not needing Kershaw out of the pen anymore. Nah I don't think that's the case. This is the team that pitched Jansen 2 innings last night with a 4-6 run lead. They aren't taking any risks.

  10. Tonight? This is a great point. I could see him throwing an inning tonight to bridge to Jansen and call it his side day. I wouldn't recommend this for LA but I could see it.
  11. This feels like during the season when we would look for little things to say Heyward is fixed. "yeah but yesterday remember he didnt groundout that one time. So what if it was a popup to the catcher, he's finally hitting the ball in the air, time to crush the National League"
  12. omg if we win tonight, we would go from funeral to pure jubilation and back to thinking that we are going home up 3-2.
  13. Would it be suicide for Kershaw to pitch, lets say, 5 innings in Game 6 and then come on in relief for 2 innings in Game 7? Or would Roberts be that desperate to risk it?
  14. I'd like to see a breakdown if this is really true.. Sure they are/have struggled against truly elite curveballs (Kershaw/Hill/Bumgarner) but almost everyone does, do they suck against all curveballs as a blanket statement or if you remove the truly elite ones are they still performing well? the information is on fan graphs. I tried to look it up but I'm not smart and didn't know how to draw conclusions from the data.
  15. theo thought he had the Cubs covered from all possible angles, but it looks like he missed one!!
  16. I think we're 5-5 against the Dodgers. 3-1 at Wrigley regular season, 1-2 at Dodger stadium regular season, then 1-2 in the playoffs
  17. Why doesn't Theo just do a *wink wink* trade with the Angels for Mike Trout where we will return him after the playoffs? Just pretend Coghlan is hurt and replace him on the roster. Get it done Theo.
  18. He began the season as a top 5 prospect in all of baseball but has only made 22 career minor league starts above A ball. He's had some hiccups and in other games he's been dominant. Because of his age and lack of innings, they are being extremely careful with him and I don't expect him to go more than 4-5 innings even if he's pitching well.
