  1. Seems appropriate to quote this after last night's game. What a heartbreaker for them...inbound the ball successfully and maybe hit some FTs and that game is won by NU
  2. My feelings on Fangio is he would have to be doing a much better job and/or be much younger, for me to worry about losing him in any coaching change situation. Since going to the Fox/Fangio set up, the Bears have prioritized defense, acquiring 7,000 linebackers, as well as 5 of their first 6 picks last year were defense. And all we have to show for it is the defense looks competent most of the time. I say you fire Fox and then figure out Fangio's future after you hire the next HC. If he stays, he stays, and if he goes he goes. So be it. But it's not like this guy is working miracles over here and can't be replaced. works for me, as long as they don't hire a 4-3 guy to DC or something after spending 2 years gearing the roster toward a 3-4. do we have any idea as to who the bigger HC candidates this offseason are going to be? Lets hire Josh McDaniels and then let him get rid of Cutler for a second time. But seriously, if we are looking for a HC in the offseason, would you prefer us going after an offensive type coach or a defensive coach? I could depend on whether Fangio is likely to stay.
  3. I think they will keep Pace. By no means has he been an unquestioned success but I don't think he's been terrible enough to lose his job. With regards to the draft, the White pick is going to look bad until he plays enough to be evaluated. But when tehy've been on the field Goldman and Amos look like keepers, Grasu didn't look that great in his rookie year but the Bears liked him enough to be the starter going into this year. Langford is a depth RB but at least showed flashes. Then this year the floyd pick was considered a risk and he has shown considerable promise. I haven't heard much complaining about Whitehair so he must be doing well. I honestly cant remember anything about the rest of the picks outside of Howard, just haven't been paying enough attention. And as for Howard, he looks like a Pro Bowl caliber RB so far. FA has been a mixed bag as it always is. McPhee has been great when healthy, Freeman is one of the highest rated LB in the league this year. Hicks has been solid and I think Trevathan has as well, although maybe not up to expectations. There have been mistakes for sure, but not enough where I'd consider completely cleaning house.
  4. *cancels Rollins jersey order at MLB shop*
  5. https://twitter.com/JeffEisenband/status/801117969392828418
  6. Is there any chance at all we see Landon play for USMNT again? How has he looked in his return?
  7. This is actually awesome. With these injuries I can only see maybe 1 more win at most, against SF and even that is very iffy at this point. The other 5 teams are all in the mix for playoff spots. 3-13 or 2-14 is probably likely which will almost certainly mean a top 3 pick. So now we can bitch about the Bears management blowing high draft picks instead of the Bears players blowing the chances of a high draft pick with meaningless wins.
  8. My blood pressure went up from all the salt in this article: http://www.cleveland.com/livingston/index.ssf/2016/11/cleveland_indians_were_real_un.html
  9. Yes, this. How does getting a result from a match against T&T all the sudden mean he's the man for the job? Either he's the right man or he's not. He should have known it by then. The only logic to his reasoning is that he really did not want to bring in a new coach during the qualifying cycle unless it was clear that the team was in danger of not qualifying with Klinsmann at the helm. And even then, if Arena is an acceptable stopgap option now, then he was in December 2015 as well.
  10. https://twitter.com/landondonovan/status/800805085630472192 I usually appreciate taking the high road and all that but I was really hoping Landon would say something else.
  11. This is insane....if that Cutler news is true, starting players going into the season (i think) that will be out next week QB - Cutler WR1 - Jeffery WR2 - White OG - Long OG - Sitton OT - Massie C - Grasu TE - Miller CB - Fuller NT - Goldman LB - Houston LB - Freeman Edit: LB - Floyd most likely I can't even remember who the bears starting secondary guys are so many theres someone missing there too.
  12. that is the tankiest thing that ever tanked what do you guys think howard's injury is going to be? Just the ankle/achillies thing?
  13. J.T. Barrett has completely forgotten how to throw a football, which doesn't bode well for OSU unless they plan on trying to win with only 87 yards passing again That's 28 more passing yards than O'Korn had for Michigan last week. I think the winds played a factor in East Lansing and Ann Arbor.
  14. Have we cap-tied every important dual-national in the pipeline?
  15. WOW....I mean not surprising but WOW it actually happened.
  16. Do we have a thread on 2017 projections yet. Sorry for linking crappy BCB but he lists Bill James projections. If these came true, especially offensively, I would be thrilled. http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2016/11/21/13697772/2017-bill-james-handbook-cubs-projections
  17. This would be a really good week to turn that whole rivalry thing around. I get the feeling that absolutely no one is picking Michigan to win.
  18. Howard great RB but dude learn how to catch the ball
  19. Head/neck injury. Was strapped down and carted off the field
  20. Ok now Floyd is hurt. My marginal interest in Bears football the rest of this season pretty much gone. Its crazy how many injuries this team has not. Not that it would have mattered ultimately
  21. Yeah I think he was placed on IR last week
  22. so Jordan Howard and Zac miller both leave with injuries. Kind of want to see Cutler sit so we can see what an offense looks like without their starting QB, RB, WR, TE, WR2 (is royal still hurt?) and at least 2 starting offensive linemen that I can think of, maybe 3 Edit: nvm Howard is back but now Sitton is down
