Well at least once we get past PCA we're past the brutal top of the order so we could have a chance to get another run in the last 2 innings.

As bad as Seiya has been, I did not want him walked on 4 pitches to get to PCA ugh. And now they're bringing in a lefty making it even worse. I might consider PHing PCA, this is kind of a big spot in the game. I know that sounds crazy but I don't hate it.

We're in the 8th game of this homestand. The Cubs have hit 3 total HRs - 1 each by Castro, Shaw and Caissie

But how much of that is the conditions and how much is it our hitters not performing? Evidence supporting it being the conditions is that the other teams aren't exactly crushing the ball either (24 runs allowed in 8 games on this homestead). But at the same time, we're not seeing an uptick of run scoring on the road either, for the Cubs or their opponents. Only 2 games in August have had at least 1 team score more than 6 runs in a game - 8/9 the Cubs scored 9 at St Louis and 8/18 the Brewers scored 7 at Wrigley. As much as the Cubs have regressed offensive, the pitching has largely picked up the slack

Honestly its kind of amazing that the Cubs have been able to mostly tread water in the 2nd half despite our 4 best hitters completely falling off a cliff.

Its mildly humorous that we had the bases loaded and 2 outs for the spot Shaw usually bats in.

Can't say I love at the 3 batted balls that inning had xBAs of .910, .390 and .410 with the last 2 being over 100 mph but no harm no foul

I remember in April when we played a ton of west coast games feeling relieved that we wouldn't have to go to the West Coast against until late August. Wow that came up quickly

I’d be interested to know Shaw/Busch’s black teammates’ thoughts on them supporting a guy who called MLK an awful person if the Cubs…umm had any black players on the roster.

Yeah....still unlikely to come back from 5 down with 34 to play and no H2H games left, but it's possible. It's much much more unlikely 7 down with 34 to play and no H2H games left.
