  1. The scenario for Dayton feels very similar to last time Dayton was picked for the games in Dayton. Lost early in conference tourney, weakish A10, everyone thinks they are safe for a bye. Wouldn't be surprised at all if they barely make it. Not a ton of great wins on their resume.
  2. Nice bracket. I agree with the changes
  3. Overall a great day for the Cubs yesterday including Javy and the fact that Rondon won't be needed since Venezuela was eliminated
  4. Just based on championship week results I'd consider moving Baylor down, Duke up, Kentucky up (still a 2 but more like 5-6), Florida and Purdue down slightly and Arizona up. Most of them I'm mostly fine with, I guess the only 3 I feel strongly about moving is Baylor, Duke and Arizona.
  5. That's fair. I am fine with either ISU or USC sliding in there but I think USC has a better shot of making the field than Illinois State does
  6. What are the first 4 teams out out of curiosity? Overall looks pretty good. VCU in the first 4 is a little surprising as well as Vandy being so high with 15 losses.
  7. Obviously unlikely but would be funny if Illini are selected for the tourney tomorrow
  8. And Groce officially fired. Like someone on twitter said, Michigan got Groce hired and Michigan got him fired (or at least the last straw)
  9. So happy for him. He got off to a great start as a freshman in a role player role on a E8 team then next 2 years weren't up to his potential because of injuries etc. he deserves this.
  10. This is going to be like the year we signed Marty Booker and Brandon Lloyd because we had no WRs
  11. Here are my next 14 in order (not sure if you need them this way) Miami Virginia Tech Northwestern VCU Seton Hall Xavier Michigan St (move above Xavier if they win) Providence Marquette Wake Forest Providence Kansas State Vandy Rhode Island Syracuse
  12. On a side note, its rare that I am allowed the kind of concentration needed to decide between blind resumes when I'm at home with kids running around like maniacs so my contributions might be limited from here on out but we will see. Possibly later at night I'll have more time.

  15. Probably hurts the Big Ten's chances of getting a top 4 seeded team doesn't it?
  16. Not even waiting for end of potential NIT appearance?
  17. Michigan/Purdue is setting up to be a classic. Purdue was up 9, Michigan went on a 12-0 run and eventually had a 4 point lead when Purdue hit a shot from half court to make the UM lead 1 going into halftime.
  18. I remember that one. Len's call was "CUBS WIN! The FIRST PLACE Cubs win"
  19. I'll do good and bad because bad games are memorable too for a different reason 1997 - June 18 at White Sox (First Cubs/Sox interleague series) Only cool because it was the rubber game of the first ever Cubs/White Sox interleague series. Was actually a bore, Wilson Alvarez threw a complete game in under 2 hours and the Sox won 3-0 1998 - September 12 vs. Milwaukee (Sammy hits 60th, Cubs come back from down 10-2) Of course David has to (name of our [expletive] president) me by going to the next game where Sammy made history, but this was still an amazing game. Sammy hits 60, Cubs come back from down 10-2 to win it with 5 in the 9th, the game winning HR being a 3 run shot from Orlando Merced. That was the first series in MLB history that both teams scored 10+ runs in all 3 games of the series. I also learned from sitting in the bleachers that Mike Morgan is a horsefeathering piece of horsefeathers, so that was cool. 2003 - August 22 at Arizona (Z screwed out of no-no) I was still living on the east coast in 2003, so this was the only game I attended that year when I was visiting family in AZ. Sammy and Aramis homered in the game but the real story was Z. He was cruising taking a no hitter into the 8th inning. With 2 outs Shea Hillenbrand hit a dribbler down the 3B line. Can't remember if Z fielded it or ARam, but either way it was fielded and Shea was thrown out by a step. Only the ump didn't think so and called him safe. Replays showed he was out. Z got the next 3 batters out (which would have been the 3 outs in the 9th) before giving up a hit with 2 outs in 9th. Thought I missed my best chance ever to see a no hitter live and definitely my only chance to see Z throw one 2004 - September 30 vs. Reds (Prior 16 Ks) Yeah this was one of losses from the season ending free fall but I note it because Prior pitched maybe his best game in the majors, throwing 113 pitches in 9 innings, giving up 3 hits, 1 walk and striking out 16. Unfortunately 1 of those 3 hits was a HR to Austin Kearns. Cubs had one of those infuriating games where they had 13 baserunners and loaded the bases 3 different times and only scored 1 run (on a solo HR by Sammy) 2005 - June 10 vs. Boston (First CHC-BOS game) Back when interleague series were cool, this was the first Cubs vs. Red Sox regular season matchup. Burnitz homered twice, Greg Maddux homered, Ortiz had 2 for the Red Sox, one of which landed on Sheffield but the Cubs killed them 14-6 2007 - August 5 vs. NY Mets (Glavine 300th) Not much to say on this one, it was Sunday Night Baseball and the game was mostly a bore other than the milestone 2007 - NLDS Game 3 vs. Arizona Only relevant because it was a playoff game, Rich Hill gave up a HR on the first pitch of the game and the Cubs were eliminated. 2008 - Sept 14 @ Houston (in Milwaukee - Z no-no) I went to a lot of regular season games in 08, I'll just focus on this one. This was already going to be a cool quirky game because of the circumstances but it turned out to be memorable. Finally got my Z no-no! 2008 NLDS G1 vs. LAD Sucked, I felt the Wrigley death rattle for the first time after the Loney Grand Slam. Then nothing much of consequence happened until 2016 NLDS G1 vs. SFG Nervous going in, cocky leaving the park. Finally saw a Cubs playoff victory in person after 3 tries. 2017 April 10 vs. LAD Going to see the home opener after a WS title. Not as cool as some of you [expletive] that went to much more important games last year but w/e
  20. Well there's something: 12th highest rated FA CB according to PFF
  21. Man that's basically like the entire list of interesting Cubs games in Cincinnati. I guess the only 2 other games I can think of are The Shawn Estes Game in 2003 and the day the Cubs clinched the division in 2007 (although it didnt happen until milwaukee lost after the game) Game 162 this season was pretty cool, when the Cubs bench players scored 4 runs in the 9th with 2 outs to end the regular season in style. Ahh yes I was there for that one. Good times!
  22. Fair enough, I considered Sitton but ultimately didn't add him because of age related decline fears. And Whitehair I considered promising but not quite there yet. But I didn't base anything off PFF grades or even much of an eye test since I drank enough to black out the last half of the Bears season. I still think the offense as a whole lacks impact skill players, but overall I think the judgement of the Bears offense rests on your opinion of Glennon. He might have a better completion percentage with a better line but its not like his accuracy in college was any good so while I don't think its impossible that he works out, I'm not overly optimistic. please tell me you didn't care enough to do this as a result of the games and that it was more just you normally enjoy getting very drunk on football sundays I was trying to sound cool (because getting blackout drunk is cool right??). In reality I half watched the games while kids distracted me and because the games were of no importance I completely forgot about them after they ended, so really wasn't evaluating the performance of guys like Massie or Leno.
  23. I don't see where they have the talent to score points. Howard and Kyle Long if healthy are their only above average players on offense, with Whitehair and Kevin White the only 2 with the potential to grow into above average players. The talent on offense sucks right now and a decent line will only make it average at best. Whitehair, Sitton, and Long are all above average, with Leno and Massie being average. If Long is injury-plagued again, Kush is actually pretty decent as well. They allowed the same amount of sacks as the Cowboys and PFO reports that their pass protection was better. if Glennon is a capable QB, they will score points. 25. Lattimore could obviously make his own argument as BPA, but I really don't think Pace has the luxury of a need pick. He just needs to bring in the best guy at each slot, and he'll have a chance to make an impact (unless its a RB who can't split out into the slot- thats the one position a guy will end up buried). Fangio's defense can work well if the CB's are there, the defense could potentially carry the Bears. Even with the issues at WR, the Bears have enough talent to score points. Do they have a lot of holes? Yes, but with strength up front, they can get by with deficiencies elsewhere. if you get Lattimore and potentially another CB that can start on the outside - Claiborne is still out there - then you're dangerous. I don't see where they have the talent to score points. Howard and Kyle Long if healthy are their only above average players on offense, with Whitehair and Kevin White the only 2 with the potential to grow into above average players. The talent on offense sucks right now and a decent line will only make it average at best.
