isn't this the opposite of how this is used in the movie? i haven't seen it in years, but i thought this happened when the team was on a hot streak, and they weren't buying it I thought the one guy was talking up the Indians spring training and the other one says they're still shitty. I could be wrong though it's been awhile for me too.

Definitely a bit over dramatic but it's funny how last year a 3-0 deficit to the Reds would be like "oh well how many innings will it take us to come back" and this year it's like "hmm ok anything else on tonight?"

Why the horsefeathers do I keep seeing this as a story? I saw the video where Gammons said it and I know he didn't really say it like it was a joke, but its freaking obvious that the Cubs were really not going to have Trump "fire" Miggy. Even the most tone deaf front offices would know that this wasn't a good idea, much less a sharp and tactful one like the Cubs

crazy that he got that hurt on a sliding attempt at a foul ball that a) if I am remembering the play correctly, he didnt really have a great chance of catching and b) the type of slide he made didn't really increase his chances at catching the ball. But then again I'm posting in a thread that was started because another one of our guys got injured catching a routine popup so I guess its not all that crazy. -

I'm so conflicted on the concept of pitch framing. Does it make such a sizable different that it makes sense to go after someone like Avila? If it does make a big deal, does acquiring a TOR pitcher and starting them instead of a guy like Lackey or Butler mitigate that to a large degree (beyond the obvious discrepancy in talent)? -
without 3 of our best 5 starters pitching too I'm dumb...Montgomery, Hendricks...
