  1. Looks like MLB got the "no more walks" memo out this morning.
  2. Yes. I would like to see all of the teams in MLB sorted by current record. Anything else is loser mom's basement nerd talk.
  3. Cards #1 winning 97 games, Pirates #15 winning 83. http://wpmedia.o.canada.com/2013/05/4a519_orig-leaving_with_disgust.gif?w=680
  4. The series at Coors last year that I went to was fairly awesome, highlighted by Fowler's game-winning 2 out, 2 strike HR in the 9th off Hawkins.

  6. I'm considering the All-star game hat, but then, I have a Cubs tat, so my taste is clearly suspect.
  7. He had good control, but I don't recall what any of his breaking stuff looked like, and if I remember his FB was sitting around 93-94.
  8. Hmmm. I wonder if the umpires will just stop calling balls completely once the Cubs reach some kind of league-approved walk ceiling. Or maybe the umps just start shouting "knock it off, wise guys!"
  9. I loved that a Cardinal fan is telling Royal fans everywhere that "You have to enjoy the lows to get the highs" in a cautionary tone. I also LOL'd with his use of the word "infamous." "Famous" doesn't even really apply.

  11. We're reaping the benefits of having a [expletive] awesome offense. Who gives a [expletive] if they're tired or not? You might be happy going 161-1, but I want to do that and win some games by attrition forfeit. Aim high you horsefeathering horsefeathers eating [self edited].
  12. Is there a way we can pressure MLB into doing 5-8 game series, so that we can reap the benefits of depleting team's bullpens instead of just setting up whomever teams player after they face the Cubs?
  13. Damn. He's going to hit like 14 in April and end the year with like 16. AKA the Joc Pederson route. Except Joc doesn't play in Coors Field. He'll get 20 by default.
  14. ...wow is Soler worthless. Pretty sure we aren't going to get a Salazar with a deal packaged around him right now.
  15. Two starts now with that twice-as-much-vertical-movement-as-last-year 89 mph change up. He seriously might break baseball this season.
  16. He's not dead you know Just wait until the swelling goes down all the way.
  17. Oh, worst case scenario? Splendid. I'm never buying a Cubs shirt with a player's name on it again.
  18. I have a few doctor friends that have been speculating on he injury, and their money is on high ankle sprain, and if the knee has any problems, they think that MCL is more likely than ACL. I had a really bad MCL sprain in college. I had a range of motion of only about 40 degrees for a month. All that added together, I don't think we see Schwarber until July...if something is completely torn, season ending.

  20. I'm in a keeper league with 6 keeps (at the expense of draft picks depending on how they were acquired by your team) which included Arrieta, Pollock, Schwarber, Kang, Darvish, and Tulo. I have 2 DL spots. My pitchers put up an ERA of 270.0 yesterday. How am I doing? /end rant
  21. We do not need to worry about who beats who. We are better than all of them. Non-Cub games are nothing but sound and fury. I pay attention only for schadenfreude and fantasy baseball purposes, and this outlook is correct. Highly suggest it for all.
