  1. It all depends on how bad the team is slumping. If for whatever Caissie gets hot and Happ is cold, you ride the hot hand. Do I expect it? Not really, but I’m willing to try at this point.
  2. Where would Caissie play? If they bring him up and he gets hot, you sit Happ. Put Suzuki in LF and DH Caissie.
  3. I thought it was gone too. I guess only out of one park.
  4. Tucker is not a big media guy, but has he said anything about his slump or how he feels over the last 6 weeks?
  5. All starters playing in preseason game 2 on SNF
  6. Matt Spiegel from 670 played a clip from Rizzo talking about how important big trade deadline moves are when a team is in contention. They are a huge shot in the arm to a team on the field and psychologically. This team needed more.
  7. Former Score producer Matt Abattacola producing. Dan will also be doing a Bears podcast called “Forward Progress.”
  8. Willi Castro isn’t fixing this team’s problems. If your top four hitters stay in this slump, the Cubs won’t win.
  9. You don’t play a 0.3 WAR player over the NL’s WAR leader who can help your team win in a ton of ways. You just don’t.
  10. Pete’s defense alone is more valuable than Castro as a whole even if Pete slumps the rest of the season
  11. Don’t worry he’ll sign with the Red Sox and be awesome again
  12. You don’t stop playing a young player leading the NL in WAR down the stretch
  13. Why would you ever throw him a strike? He’s had two walks since the All Star break.
  14. There have been very few who have had the plate discipline that Pete has shown and been able to have sustained success
