Happ is your worst starter and has contributed 1 WAR this season. His hitting has only regressed in July and August. Let’s not make him out to be more than he is this year. The Cubs have a roster spot to fill now and I’m ready to give Caissie a few games to see how he does. It also wouldn’t hurt to see what you have in Caissie should the Cubs not sign Tucker.

When the team is struggling offensively and you are the worst hitter among the starters, if your number one prospect begins to play better than you and the playoff race gets tight, you shouldn’t expect to keep your job. I just don’t see why a .710 OPS corner OF can’t get benched for your #1 prospect if that prospect shows some pop.

It all depends on how bad the team is slumping. If for whatever Caissie gets hot and Happ is cold, you ride the hot hand. Do I expect it? Not really, but I’m willing to try at this point.

Where would Caissie play? If they bring him up and he gets hot, you sit Happ. Put Suzuki in LF and DH Caissie.

Willi Castro isn’t fixing this team’s problems. If your top four hitters stay in this slump, the Cubs won’t win.

You don’t play a 0.3 WAR player over the NL’s WAR leader who can help your team win in a ton of ways. You just don’t.

Pete’s defense alone is more valuable than Castro as a whole even if Pete slumps the rest of the season
