  1. There is a rumor that Girardi has a clause in his contract that allows his to leave Florida of the Yankees or Cusb job opens up. Hmmmmm.....
  2. Aramis has no room to talk. His power anfd RBI numbers are there and he is steadily improving, but his average still stinks.
  3. Does Tyrus play the 3 or 4? What about Al Harrington?
  4. LeBron is going to get his points, but the Cavaliers don't have a Pippen and quite the supporting cast the Bulls did. A solid team like the Bulls canplay with the Cavaliers in a 7 game series.
  5. What happens if the Bulls get a shot at Oden next year. They will have Wallace and won't be able to move his big contract.
  6. Why would the Hornets wnat Chandler? A sign and trade for Harrington would cap a great week for the Bulls.
  7. So the Bulls only have 2 million in cap room left? That means no Al Harrington unless they backload his contract. And I hear that Chandler is probably going to be traded? Who wants that contract.
  8. Murton had the first 75 games to showcase himself. Although I agree that he needs more time, he was given a decent amount so far. Just take Joe Crede. He was really close to being traded last year, then he has a great final quarter of the season, a great playoffs, and a great year this year. It takes time.
  9. now, on this part of your post...that means that Wade Boggs and Tony Gwynn weren't franchise players, right? No cause Murton doesn't have the average either. Regardless, they hit more homers than Murton is right now. But Murton does have the potential to hit home runs.
  10. Glendon should be going to the All-Star game as the homerun derby pitcher.
  11. I thought he was pretty strong to begin with? He has some huge leg muscles. But getting stronger sure wouldnt hurt.
  12. I have to actually disagree with some of what Williamson said. Yes Murton is getting screwed, but I doubt he is going to be a franchise player. He just doesn't have the power to do so. Dusty plays Nevin cause he is on the hot seat and needs wins. For a while there I believed that Nevin gave the Cubs the best chance to win. But Dusty should see the writing on the wall and let Murton play everyday. Unless Hendry told Dusty to play Nevin to showcase him for a trade. But does Hendry actually tell Dusty who to play? Howry was brought in here to be the right-handed stopper. Williamson had to realize this. Williamson's ERA was nowhere near Howry's until recently but even then, Williamson was hurt.
  13. Steve also said that the Cubs were about to resign Maddux. Hendry doesn't want to fire Dusty cause it makes him look bad. Dusty will make it through the year and then Hendry will say the Cubs are going to go in a different direction.
  14. On NY City radio he did say that he would find the Cub managing job intriguing because they have a lot of talent
  15. A sports radio station in Chicago had sound clips from Chris Speier mentioning the Cubs couldn't practice apart from BP before yesterday's game because of a clinic. Speier did not sound very happy about it cuase heck his job is on the line too. The Cub beat reporter confirmed this and said the clinics were typical. Sonny Jackson was on the SCORE last year complaining that before day games it is hard for players to get any extra practice in. But it's not like Corey couldn't get to the park extra early or stay late to practic ehis bunting. Where there is a will there is a way.
  16. Stinks because both Houston and St Louis have stunk the the last few weeks. No one in the central, and heck in the NL deserves to be in the playoffs outside of the Mets.
  17. So let me see, it's Dusty's fault that our closer (who is paid to come in and CLOSE games) gives up a single and a walk before he fails to even field a sac bunt. If I didn't know any better, I'd think Dempster was blowing these games on purpose. That's how bad he has gotten. Maybe he wants to be traded? Hey if they are going to be bad, I hope they are fun-bad. Tonight was pretty close to that.
  18. Z had complained of a heavy arm. I don't want to risk an injured Z for a win in a meaningless season! Look at the injuries PRior and Wood had after 2003. The pen just has to come through.
  19. Yeah what happened behind home plate? Len said they wouldn't show it of course. But he said the fans were getting frustrated if that was of any indication.
  20. Rusch's transformation really parallels Bonds'. Except Rusch still stinks.
  21. The Flyers play right near my house. Wow, that is a great idea. I wonder hwo good they do.
  22. Walker vs righties .325 Neifi vs righties .210 What in the world? We gotta get someone to find the bad pics of Dusty that Neifi has. This is ridiculous.
  23. Wasn't that a hit and run? Pierre looked back as if he was looking for the hit.
  24. Man that looked like it got him right in the groin but he sure took off that mound quick. But with groin injuries, the pain takes a few seconds so who knows.
  25. I didn't know that Dan Bernstein frequents this board
