    On a separate note, Bonds supposeldy lied on the stand. He said that he didn't know he was taking steroids. Well then why isn't he suing the guy who gave him them? If Bonds is consistent, he shoudl do this. But he knows he can't. That would blow up in his face and would further prove his guilt.

    ESPN, in their article on the 0% chance Girardi will be back, mentioned However, the source said the front office is pointing to specific in-game decisions that ultimately may lead to Girardi's demise. Fighting for a wild-card spot, the source described Marlins management as "shocked" that Girardi brought back rookie-sensation Josh Johnson after an 82-minute rain delay on Sept. 12 against the New York Mets. The righthander left the game four innings later with cramping in his forearm and was later shelved for the season with a strained ligament. Girardi also was criticized for inserting reserve outfielder Reggie Abercrombie as a defensive replacement in Sunday's 8-7 loss against Atlanta. Florida's 10th-inning collapse was aided by two Abercrombie errors that opened the door for a five-run inning.

    Would they attempt to sell the Cubs before next season? If they fire Dusty, wouldnt't they want to sell the Cubs before they clean house so the new owner can have control?

    I think you proved how much that means at this point when I see him edging out Batch, Carr, Rivers and Pennington. At most one of those guys will be in the top 5 at the end of the year. Go Vikes! The Bears have looked damn good in the first two games, but this should be their first actual test. The Bears arent going to test the Vikings. When you have a team like the Bears who are clearly better than the Vikings, you dont call that a test. You call that a mismatch.

    Methinks the Vikings might be a sleeper team this year. After watching enough of that game, I can tell you that the Panthers had that game locked up before Chris Gamble decided to throw the game away. Believe me, if there ever was a loss that could be pinned on a single player, this would be a really good example of it. Chris Collinsworth was blaming John Fox, saying he called for that pass, but I don't know if that was just assumption on Collinsworth's part. Fox said after the game that all the plays go through him and that he specifically OK'd it. Really dumb play by the part of a coach who generally knows what he is doing.

    Good game for the Bears. The running attack bothers me a little, btu I have faith. What was wrong with the field? The grass looked terrible!

    Why can't Mohammad be good? Most people think he is a good number two receiver or average number one, but in 2004 he arguably the best receiver in the league. Now he is just a number two? Does the Bears offense not give him opportunities? Is the QB the problem? Has his talent gone downhill?

    What is Benson doing? I have a feeling that Lovie wants Jones to play but is under pressure form Angelo to play Benson. Now he just leaves and watches the game inside? Weird.

    Well if he can play solid D, get a few timely hits, and keep himself from doing anything terribly dumb it isn't a bad deal. I am sure they will dump him next season. He isn't a bad bench player if that's all he is for them next year.

    Jones had the only 1300 yard season by a Bear RB outside of Payton with a terrible QB who they stacked 8 at the line every play. The Bear D doesn't want to lose games just because Angelo wants his guy in there. With that said, when Benson played last year he did well. Jones might not be proven, but he is more proven that Benson as far as the NFL goes.

    As the Tigers are about to find out. Watch him pull a Maddux on us not grounf out to the 2B every at bat Well yesterday wasn't a great start. 0-4, first 2 outs were made on the first pitch, in all he swung at every first pitch and his last AB he grounded into a double play. How long will that nonsense last with Leyland? Man don't the Tigers have a minor leaguer who knows how to work the count who could have come up instead? If the Tigers get a ring this year there is no way Neifi should get one. It's kind of like the PH/3B that was on the Cubs in the 03 season who got traded to the Marlins. Man what was his name? Lenny Harris? Yes Lenny Harris

    It doesn't seem like the team is very fond of Benson. I'd say it's likely these guys split carries unless one of them gets red hot. Well the team thinks it can contend for a Super Bowl and they want to go with a proven winner. I am not saying that Benson can't do the job, but if you are on the defense you realize this could be your only chance for a Super Bowl. Freak injuries occur all the time and the Bears have been relatively healthy so far. Plus the Bears have a super easy schedule. This is the Bears best chance since 85 at the beginning of the season for another Super Bowl title.
