Berrian looks to be the #2 guy right now. From what I have heard, Bradley is not nearly 100% yet and can't make cuts and stop and go like he used to. I hope he doesn't rush back. Although he doesn't have great speed, I liked what I saw last year. I have also been hearing that people don't think Musin could be a #1 WR on most teams. He was probably the best WR in 04, and yes he dropped a ton of balls last year, but I expect some big plays and 10 TD's at least this year. A healthy Grossman or Griese will make Moose look much better.

It took the Cubs 3 days to get Ronny a 2B mitt. What! Ronny began the minors as a 2B, and any infielder knows that if there is a righty at bat, the 2B covers and vice versa.

Well that was barely even a hit. Are the guys not supposed to bring a guy to the ground yet in trainign camp or did Cedric yell out in pain and told the guys not to tackle him? Was it just me or did Mike Brown not seem to be a big fan of Benson.

Weird thing is that Walker hits much better in day games. He just shot himslef in the foot. Kind of like the Cubs winnign streak. How in the world were they able to win without Kerry Wood, Derek Lee, and most importantly Freddy Bynum? -

Ozzie Guillen can be a turd at at times, but he wouldn tolerate Ramirez's antics. He would make ARam a better player or get him shipped out - but he would not tolerate it.

Even though the Cubs are obviously out of the race, why not look for the right guys that you need next year right now if a trade comes along that can help the team?

If Dusty wants to get resigned wouldn't he be better off playing the young guys so that he sands a message that he is in this for the long-run and will do whatever is needed to win a WS. You aren't going to get closer to winning a WS by playing old, bad players. The Cubs gotta see what they have so they know who to get. -
Eyre said his number one goal is to win a WS in Chicago not to get work. It won't happen with Baker and Eyre should realize that.

Agreed, but I also think that deep down Eyre doesn't think a manager replacement is needed. And that is a problem.

Did anyone catch this on the SCORE? He said you can't blame Dusty. He said he doesnt want to be traded and cant without his approval. Same for Dempster. He wants to win a WS here. He said there is no way they can make the playoffs, but when asked about Dusty trying to win every game and not playing the rookies like he should (Murton) Eyre said he didnt understand the question even though it was repeated. When asked about the Jones shouting match, he didnt think Jones' defense was a big deal and said who cares about that since he is hitting over .300. I still like the guy though.

A great coach and a good philosophy can make a HUGE difference. The Tigers of 2006 aren't that different from 2005. Except they win! Just antoehr reason to fire Dusty cause the Cubs would be considerably better without him.

So if MacPhail wanted to get rid of him which I am sure he doesn't want to - money wouldn't be the issue.
