  1. How long of a rain-delay will make it that Z can't come back?
  2. No way, he's a terrible defensive 3B. Gameday is nice. It shows the speed at 92.2. Wow, 0.2? That's pretty specific.
  3. http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2008-03/37359831.jpg I think Ron wants a statue
  4. Bears open the 2008 season against the Colts in their new stadium on the national game on NBC Sunday night. It's going to be a rough start for the Bears.
  5. Is the regular WGN broadcast not in HD? If not, WGN would still be the easy choice for me. All Cub games, at least on WGN, home or away, are HD this year. About time! Is it the same for Comcast?
  6. "Is that me?" Banks repeated as he gazed at the statue Ha!
  7. Probably a long time. They have a plexi-glass protector running about two feet up off where the wall juts out towards the field that, unless the fan is standing, completely protects them. Unless a pitcher really loses grip of one and puts it high up in the seats. That's good. But does the plexiglass inhibit the view? Do you have to look through it to see the game? What do you think? Well I don't know if the bricks are low enough that the plexiglass doesn't reach eye level. If I am paying decent money for those seats, I don't want to be looking through plexiglass the whole time.

  9. I give it two months. A Wood heater results in a multi-million dollar lawsuit.
  10. Anyone want to wager on how long it will take for a fan in those new seats to get plunked by a pitch from the pen?
  11. If I remember correctly, after the first couple of ST games last year Lou got mad that they weren't playing good fundamental baseball
  12. I never understand when people say stuff like this. Getting to the playoffs is much harder than actually having success once you're there. Not if you're in the NL Central
  13. The Cubs have the starting pitching to get to the playoffs. They don't have enough to get any farther than that.
  14. Humpty Dumpty
  15. Are you kidding? I thought it was awesome. It was fun to watch, but the injury issue bothers me. Plus, it takes away from the team's regular spring training. With guaranteed contracts in baseball, its not fair to the owners.
  16. I didn't think they were doing this dumb tournament again
  17. It's been 100 years since the Cubs won a title. Please remember this. Yes he's done everything that expected of him, but if you want to win a championship, you have to make trades that better your team. Roberts makes the Cubs a better team. If DeRosa's feelings get hurt in route to a Cubs' championship I don't really care. Plus ARam might get hurt, Soriano might get hurt and so forth. He will get his chances. Plus, DeRosa has not been the most consistent player around. His lat two years were good, but it isn't like he had has 5-7 great years. Roberts has been more consistent.
  18. Wrong Why don't you think so? Even DeRosa admits it.
  19. Double post
  20. While 2B is not a hole, Roberts is a better player than DeRosa is. The leadoff spot is a need on this team. I am getting a little tired of DeRosa now.
  21. Actually steroids did
  22. Ouch! i think that was a compliment, actually. you're not going to put him in the first tier (ie Victor Martinez, Jorge Posada, etc.) at this point in his career, so I think the writer was saying that outside of drafting a superstar catcher, you could do worse than Soto on your fantasy team Yeah 1st tier guys would be Vmart, Martin, McCann, Mauer, Posada. So they are saying he has as much upside as the #6 C in baseball. I could see Soto being just as good as Martin and McCann when you look at his skills overall. They might be better offensively, but doesn't Soto have the edge defensively?

  24. because you might miss an incredible finish to the game!
