  1. The same reason they had such an easy ride to 16-0, they play in the pathetic AFC East. When the Bears went to the Super Bowl in 2006, they had the easiest schedule in the league that year I believe even though they had the first or second best record in the NFC the year before. The NFC Central/North was just plain terrible. But remember, although the Patriots have the easiest schedule based on last season's record, many teams improve from season to season which could mean they have a much tough schedule than was originally thought.
  2. That's because playing next to Jeter all season he absorbed some of Jeter's overflow clutchiness but by now it has all worn off. Then bat him next to Fukudome
  3. Seriously, do you think that it is possible that Fukudome's approach at the plate will rub off on Soriano?
  4. Why is there an off day tomorrow? Because today was the Pirates' home opener?
  5. Crowd Control I was standing against the wall, facing the fans, in the isle that the HR flew right over. I turned around as soon as i heard the crack of the bat and saw the fans in my section get wide-eyed. I knew it was coming my way and I didn't want to get hit by a line-drive. Then I realized I would probably look like a clown in the replay - luckily for me you can't tell who i am in that video thanks to it being so blurry. How'd you get that job? How many games do you do? Can you watch the game, are are you told to constantly looking to see if there is trouble?
  6. I wouldn't mind that. Soriano has shown that he can't hit down in the order because he doesn't have any plate discipline. I am not sure if you want him running with Derek Lee batting anyway. Mike Murphy on the Score is proposing that Fukudome hit #3 because Murphy thinks he has power. But I bet Fukudome hits 20 homers max this year. 20 homers has pretty much been what most experts predicted. Guess who his lead-off man is? Derek Lee. Why? Because he has a good OBP. What! Your best run producer can't hit lead-off. What a joke this guys is. And he thinks of himself as some know-it-all expert on baseball. How does he have a job?
  7. Is the rooftop in question on the edge of the field? I guess it won't obstruct the other rooftop views?
  8. The 2003 team was overpowering for a time in the playoffs. That was the best Cubs team I have seen.
  9. Wow, I checked the video at chicagosports.com and yeah they forgot to put an apostrophe in there. I think they could probably chisel one in, but that is embarrassing. Front page article on http://www.chicagotribune.com now
  10. It has to be embarrassing for Zambrano and the medical staff for this issue to keep popping up. Why can't they figure this out?
  11. Dutchie Caray is furious with AT&T over television commercials featuring comic John Caponera pitching cable TV while impersonating the late Harry Caray. "I just get shivers when I even think about it," she told WGN-Ch. 9 on Monday morning. "I was gone the whole month of March and I didn't come back until a couple of days ago. ... It made me so sick and disgusted. ... What they did [was] so unprofessional, so jerky. ... I might make an AT&T commercial, wrap myself in telephone wire, ughl-ughl-ughl and act like an idiot dope."
  12. When Fukudome got in that rundown, you should have heard Ron. Man was he ticked. But he redeemed himself.
  13. You mean Billy Williams and Fergie Jenkins?
  14. How long of a rain-delay will make it that Z can't come back?
  15. No way, he's a terrible defensive 3B. Gameday is nice. It shows the speed at 92.2. Wow, 0.2? That's pretty specific.
  16. http://www.chicagotribune.com/media/photo/2008-03/37359831.jpg I think Ron wants a statue
  17. Bears open the 2008 season against the Colts in their new stadium on the national game on NBC Sunday night. It's going to be a rough start for the Bears.
  18. Is the regular WGN broadcast not in HD? If not, WGN would still be the easy choice for me. All Cub games, at least on WGN, home or away, are HD this year. About time! Is it the same for Comcast?
  19. "Is that me?" Banks repeated as he gazed at the statue Ha!
  20. Probably a long time. They have a plexi-glass protector running about two feet up off where the wall juts out towards the field that, unless the fan is standing, completely protects them. Unless a pitcher really loses grip of one and puts it high up in the seats. That's good. But does the plexiglass inhibit the view? Do you have to look through it to see the game? What do you think? Well I don't know if the bricks are low enough that the plexiglass doesn't reach eye level. If I am paying decent money for those seats, I don't want to be looking through plexiglass the whole time.

  22. I give it two months. A Wood heater results in a multi-million dollar lawsuit.
  23. Anyone want to wager on how long it will take for a fan in those new seats to get plunked by a pitch from the pen?
  24. If I remember correctly, after the first couple of ST games last year Lou got mad that they weren't playing good fundamental baseball
