    Beginning of the season: Hank Steinbrenner is an idiot for even thinking Joba should be a starter. Middle of the season: Wow what a great idea it was for Joba to be a starter. Some on ESPN think he should win the Cy Young. Now: Joba is hurt. Shouldn't have made the transition in the middle of the season after being a reliever for so long. But in years past, he was a starter, so he did have that experience.

    LOL. Their stats are almost identical. Fukudome has more RBI's and is a better defensive player.

    On TBS when the Braves are playing, there has been a screen advertising for the playoffs. Am I not allowed to watch those games in Chicago or have the Braves abandoned TBS?

    I too think it is partly a money issue. He was the statistically worst starting pitcher in in the NL in 2006 and he got a 3 year, 21 million dollar deal. But I also think that there are a few pitchers who can do better, including Marshall. Lou is supposed to be this "my way or the highway" manager, but after Jason's comments in ST about not wanting to go to the pen, the half-run better than Marshall could do might not be worth the stink he would raise. Or maybe Marquis would be terrible in the pen.

    Tornados don't usually go in the city. But the tornado is in Norridge, 5-6 miles from Wrigley and heading in that general area. Actually, it's a little north of Chicago. Update: Cuban lowers his bid by 400 million.

    And fat. Don't forget fat. He slimmed down this year. He's slimmer than Geo. The umpire should have warned Carrasco after the second pitch. I know you don't want to warn people too soon, but as we saw two weeks ago, things can get out of hand real quick. Yesterday Ozzie said that Carrasco wouldn't have hit Olivio because he doesn't throw hard enough. But a few weeks ago he brought Carrasco in to intentionally hit someone and admitted it. Hmmmm.......

    If he isn't totally ready, he shouldn't pitch. If he goes out tonight and injures the blister even worse, he won't be helping anyone. So after someone's 14 day DL stint, he can come off any time he's ready?

    Mike Mulligan said that the Bears could pick up Brown or Miller again because they haven't been picked up yet and the Bears need some depth on the line if Williams is out for any more time.

    Which is weird that they went out and got an old, slow, home-run hitter in Griffey whose stats are not too different from Konerko's and Swisher's. But Griffey has had a good last month.

    Williams won't start for the first regular season game will he because his injury doesn't seem to be letting up? That means that Freeney is going to have a field day with someone.

    Did Dempster use his splitter as effectively as a closer as he is now? I have heard that a splitter puts more pressure on the arm, so most guys don't try to use it. I hope he stays healthy, but I don't think he has had injury problems lately has he?

    Farnsworth looked like he was crying when he was being interviewed after the trade. Someone tell Farnsy that they serve beer in Detroit too.
