  1. Agreed. I'd also look at WR early. Another rant... Is Earl Bennett worse than Davis, Booker, Hester, Lloyd, or the two TE they have lined up at WR? This WR group is awful and Bennett (a 3rd rd pick) can't see the field. Lovie doesn't like to put new people into the system. Williams can't get a sniff. Beekman couldn't last year even after there were plenty of people hurt and the Bears were out of the playoffs. He could have used the experience. Vasher played hurt when the season was over last year. Lovie is too loyal.
  2. Lovie can go to Tennessee wit my blessing. What does Lovie bring as a head coach? I really can't think of one thing. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/news/story?id=3706349
  3. Lovie already showed emotion when he pawned over Barack Obama. But seriously, showing emotion doesn't mean crap. There are plenty of coaches who have shown it and who haven't that have won Super Bowls.
  4. I'm glad Doug still has the neanderthal gene even though he doesn't play anymore.
  5. but the Packers did not let them off the hook. Nathan Vasher is terrible. He is approaching fun bad.
  6. Or Kerry is saying that he wanted a one year deal after Hendry already made his decision so he could leave on good terms. I still think this is about money. The Cubs can't afford every player they would like. Yes the Cubs spent bad money on pitchers like Marquis, and it has to come and bite them at times.
  7. Hendry is lying. This has to be a money issue or a Lou issue.
  8. For the first couple of games, Orton was not throwing a good deep ball. But he has improved remarkably since. Not he doesn't have a cannon of an arm and probably has a weaker arm than Rex, but I think he can stretch the field. He can throw the 30-40 yard pass.
  9. I did too. What happened to last years ABrown. What happened to rookie Mark Anderson. Really and im serious, the pass rush from the interior (Harrison, I2, and the oft injured Tommie) produces more of a pass rush than the ends. I have more confidence in those 3 producing pressure/sacks than the ends. Tommie happened. All those guys benefited from Harris. When he is hurt or playing bad the Cover-2 will not work because most of the pressure is supposed to come from the front four. Tommie doesn't have to be double teamed as often, so the other guys on the line have no shot. No one except Tommie is good enough to defeat a double team. The DBs were not great, but when you have all day to throw even the best will get picked apart. Even against well below average receivers.
  10. Cuban's interest won't influence the owners to allow him on. The Cubs will be a prosperous organization and will benefit MLB no matter who gets in.
  11. Samardzija 5.48 ERA. No way. They don't think much of Dempster either (11-9 4.08 ERA).
  12. Hendry better resign him. When a player is given an option and that player has his best year right before the option, resign him. Yeah 3 million is a bit too much, but isn't Blanco the best backup catcher in the league?
  13. Darrin Jackson??? That would be hilarious. :-)) I would never watch a game on with him doing the color if he got the job. And I really like Len.
  14. I don't know much about Harrington, but is he more of a jump-shooting big man? Can he not post up?
  15. Taken control of a spot that no one else can play well though. I haven't been watching, but is he any good? I still wish Lovie had played Beekman las year when Brown went out. There was absolutely no reason for Beekman not to be starting them so we could figure out if he was any good. On another note, does Lovie bring anything to the table as a head coach except the Cover-Two which I don't even like. I just can't name anything that Lovie does particularly well.
  16. Showalter would be a huge mistake. He runs way too tight of a ship.
  17. Tallon won't be here if the team doesn't improve quickly. I am surprise Tallon wasn't fired first, only because he's the one that signed two average goalies to above average contracts, traded a solid 2nd line centre and had to send down a young talented DMan to "clear cap" to fit Huet and Habby into the salary cap. The Hawks are still an immensely talented team, but it was Tallon he put the Hawks behind, not Savard. Look Savard isn't a great caoch, but for the org to "scapegoat" a Hawks legend like they just did reminds alot of the olds days of Wirtz/Pulford. If the Hawks don' turned it around then Tallon will be gone. When the Hawks signed Khabi he was not average. Hadn't he just won the Stanley Cup and had a great season? Huet was one of the best goalies last year wasn't he?
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2008/columns/story?columnist=bryant_howard&id=3642371 It is the ALCS, and he is nearing the summit of one of the four most influential clubs in the history of his industry (in terms of historical -- and financial -- significance, only the Yankees, Dodgers and Cardinals rank with the Red Sox). Do you agree with this?
  19. Great picture on the chicagotribune.com front page. He has a can of chew in his back pocket. Couldn't they find a better one?
  20. I hadn't heard this before. My guess, Zambrano or DLee. http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/blog/big_league_stew/post/So-which-Cub-flooded-the-visitor-s-dugout-at-Dod?urn=mlb,113546
  21. I couldn't believe my eyes. But even the average Bear receivers were getting plenty of separation which made the throws easier. But still, Kyle has been throwing he ball much better lately. Nice work Kyle. Roy Williams is a terrible teammate.
  22. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c246/Jerdog201/untitled-5.jpg
  23. Didn't he visit Africa or something like that and realize football is small potatoes compared to the everyday problems people face?
