  1. I was watching the B&B remote yesterday -- similar turnout. Don't know why they do these when nothing is going on and at these strange locations. I get doing a remote in Wrigleyville on Opening Day or whatever... Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm guessing the bar pays for the remote for the advertising? Oh yeah. I could be wrong, but I thought I heard it was thousands for a remote.
  2. It's not helping him get his own show one bit He might think that it is. If you're buddies with Bernstein, you have a good chance of eventually getting on air. Bernstein's basically the program director at that station. Jason did, but only after moving to Atlanta and the Score being very desperate

  4. Certainly not a horrible place to be, but I refuse to believe that if any halfway decent offer was put on the table, Cutler would have been traded any offer would have to be contingent with receiving an NFL starting caliber QB. No one is making that trade. You don't trade your starting QB for a meh Cutler who gets $18 million a year and is replacement level.
  5. Cutler will never be good, but don't sell him short - he's average, not below average Maybe three years ago. Right now, he's not even that close to average. Cutler just needed time to gel with the same players. Many people on this board said it would have happened right about the time Cutler got hurt and McCown took over in 2013. It was bound to happen! It still could. No.

  7. Pace was "evaluating" Cutler right through free agency...to the point when no one else would take him he had to commit to him yep, he's so eager for the Jimmy Claussen era to officially begin he could just puke. unfortunately, now he's stuck with a legitimate NFL quarterback that will likely improve his chances for success. Bummer for him. Certainly not a horrible place to be, but I refuse to believe that if any halfway decent offer was put on the table, Cutler would have been traded Edit: would NOT have been traded
  8. [expletive] Bernstein is quickly losing me as a fan he's gone full meatball on the Cutler story. can't support his personal feeling that Cutler should be gone with any facts. Cutler's fine. If you want him gone, gotta bring in someone better. There are only backups left on the market. Not like you can find a career backup to come in with the same players on offense and lead the league in QB rating and throw one pick. That guy is gone.
  9. I don't know if you're joking or not here, but I think I'm behind this idea. What kind of return would you guys want? 3-4th rounder. Draft Cooper and Gurley.
  10. John Mullin broke that yesterday: https://m.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=875267469179340&id=156340317738729

  12. I'd take Grote over Abattacola for any Score openings if he hadn't got the Cubs job
  13. Terry rarely disagrees with Dan. Lately he's been repeating Dan? For years he has. I wouldn't mind Rozner getting the afternoon gig with Dan. It's really true that Terry is on an ISDN line from his house a fair amount, right?
  14. @dan_bernstein: Great day to be a #Bears fan. Your new GM just got something in exchange for Brandon Marshall. Enjoy clown college, #Jets, it's your turn. Edit: just saw it was already posted
  15. But Kirk shot 3-4 and that's all Thibs will remember from the last few months
  16. No, not at all. I don't think Rose has Westbrook's mentality when it comes to trusting himself to recover from an injury. Rose sat out the playoffs two years ago and has been pacing himself all season. Those are things he is choosing to do. The injuries themselves were just freak accidents. If the injuries are freak accidents than what you do in your recovery doesn't mean anything thus mentality is irrelevant. No. When the doctors cleared Westbrook, he played. When the doctors cleared Rose, he sat out for 6 weeks and then the playoffs. I don't think Westbrook would have done that in Rose's shoes and I don't expect Rose to be back this season even if cleared to play. So, what, if Rose had come back like Westbrook he wouldn't have ended up injured again? You've trapped yourself in a weird little logic loop in your efforts to try and call him out for not playing as hard as you wanted. And you try to dismiss the injuries as freak accidents while criticizing Rose for "not trusting his body." You don't think this many injuries in short order would make someone wary about their body holding up? The guy has seemingly done everything he can to stay in peak physical shape and his body simply keeps failing. We have no idea what differences he and Westbrook felt physically when they started playing again. I never said anything close to if Rose would have come back like Westbrook he wouldn't have gotten hurt again. My point was only if the doctors clear you to play, you play. You can't hurt your knee more by coming back if cleared. Rose's knee was bound to feel off, but you have to go through that to get better. And we have no reason to think Rose is going to play in the playoffs if cleared by the doctors because mentally Rose can't trust himself. His history says so. If he's going to get injured again I don't think playing this year is going to increase those chances.

  19. I don't expect Rose to be able to recover from injuries like Westbrook. Westbrook has a different mentality. This year for both players has proven that. I'm thinking they need to move on from Rose by any means necessary, but this is beyond dumb. It's not dumb. It's exactly what has happened. Westbrook has come back from multiple injuries and showed the same athleticism he always had. Rose is not the same player and some of that is mental. He doesn't trust his body.

  21. Because Rose's history suggests he is quick to get back in time for the playoffs and doesn't look forward to his next contract or his son's graduation
  22. Not sure how they would be able to beat Cleveland, Atlanta or Washington in the second round without Rose. I wouldn't bet on the Bulls, but I think it's possible
  23. Still could go to the Eastern Finals. Wanted more. Brooks has I think a barely lower PER.
  24. Trade him to the Lakers in the offseason
  25. Surprised at the Goff hire, but I like it. Guess he wasn't on CBS's bad side.
