No, not at all. I don't think Rose has Westbrook's mentality when it comes to trusting himself to recover from an injury. Rose sat out the playoffs two years ago and has been pacing himself all season. Those are things he is choosing to do. The injuries themselves were just freak accidents. If the injuries are freak accidents than what you do in your recovery doesn't mean anything thus mentality is irrelevant. No. When the doctors cleared Westbrook, he played. When the doctors cleared Rose, he sat out for 6 weeks and then the playoffs. I don't think Westbrook would have done that in Rose's shoes and I don't expect Rose to be back this season even if cleared to play. So, what, if Rose had come back like Westbrook he wouldn't have ended up injured again? You've trapped yourself in a weird little logic loop in your efforts to try and call him out for not playing as hard as you wanted. And you try to dismiss the injuries as freak accidents while criticizing Rose for "not trusting his body." You don't think this many injuries in short order would make someone wary about their body holding up? The guy has seemingly done everything he can to stay in peak physical shape and his body simply keeps failing. We have no idea what differences he and Westbrook felt physically when they started playing again. I never said anything close to if Rose would have come back like Westbrook he wouldn't have gotten hurt again. My point was only if the doctors clear you to play, you play. You can't hurt your knee more by coming back if cleared. Rose's knee was bound to feel off, but you have to go through that to get better. And we have no reason to think Rose is going to play in the playoffs if cleared by the doctors because mentally Rose can't trust himself. His history says so. If he's going to get injured again I don't think playing this year is going to increase those chances.
