The reactions to USSoccer are a bit over the top. He didn't say anything that bad--or really even bad at all. I am as excited as anyone Schwarber will be playing. I have the same thoughts as IMB in that I don't even really care if he struggles a bit, I am glad he is on the roster and will at least get to feel part of the run. I am going to be so pumped to see him walk up to the plate. But it isn't crazy to say there might be a better option to DH--most specifically if Willson is kept on the bench. But again, as others have pointed out, there is no reason to think that this front office isn't making much more informed decisions than we are. There are times when ganging up on a poster is warranted--mostly if their take includes offensive slurs, but this seems out of place. Anyway, back to being excited. -

It seems like whenever rizzo is in a bad slump like this, he comes out of it with like 4 home runs in 3 days or so. Lets do that.

I was feeling pretty good about facing the Dodgers--thinking that if we can reasonably expect a big advantage in both of Lester's starts (nothing guaranteed in any single game obviously), that we would only need 2 out of the other 5 games of the series. However, the wind now has me a little nervous. I don't like weather that can make crazy things happen in a game where we had such an advantage going in. I can already see Adrian Gonzalez going opposite field for a home run on what should be a lazy fly ball right now. I do think Lester has a better GB/FB ratio than Maeda, however. Gametime needs to come quickly.

I am pretty sure that on the Hopkins third down catch to keep the drive alive he only had one foot in bounds. They hurried the next play and they never showed a good replay but when I slowed it down, it didn't even seem close. -
I have no idea how his fielding percentage isn't something like 0.600. It feels like he screws up at least 2 plays every time he plays in the field.

Ive watched this like a million times and cant figure out where it hit. I don't think the gif shows all of the frames, but on the broadcast, you can tell it hits just below wood's right knee... then it is hard to tell but I think it bounces off of his chair in between his legs.

mckinney is literal garbage so of course id rather have cease than him but jesus christ the wailing and gnashing of teeth over these children in LOW A BALL is really amazing. An elite baseball player is an elite baseball player, but the mystery box could be anything. It could even be an elite baseball player!

Yeah, I remember listening to some sports radio program last year at the beginning of the playoffs and I believe Jonah Keri was a guest. In a response to a question about a certain team's chance of winning, he basically said "look, they could replace their left and right fielders with me and you and their odds of winning wouldn't change all that much." You could just feel the host's head explode in the background.

Yeah I saw this comment earlier describing the matchup between the Nationals and Cubs: I also wouldn't be surprised at all if that banned poster in the game thread was a mets troll from that website. Clearly it was just a guy trying to get a rise out of people here, but I seem to remember last year in the playoffs that gay slurs occurred in just about every other post on that website. -
