  1. Kyle explained it better, but I think people do think of McDavid/Crosby as better prospects, but that Bedard isn't just a "normal year" number 1 pick. He's someone that even casual fans have been thinking about for a while with who was going to get the first pick in his draft year.
  2. Here is the video of the actual lottery process. Apparently the list of 4 digit numbers for each team was released the night before as well, so it wasn't like the guy looking at the paper to determine it was the blackhawks could have just said whatever he wanted. There are also reporters and a couple of team representatives in the room.
  3. On ESPN, they announced the 4th pick. Then it cut to the host going to commercial saying "and thats the first change in the order with Columbus picking 3rd, so it will either be Chicago or Anaheim picking first" or something like that. It was clearly a weird mistake like they played the wrong thing at the wrong time or something. Then they came back and hadn't revealed any of the top 3 yet.
  4. Don't even care if it was rigged. No one cares about the Ducks (sorry Kyle).
  5. So that was weird. They didn't announce the 3rd pick but cut to commercial saying it was Columbus and either Chicago or Anaheim have the first pick. Unless my DVR skipped something.
  6. I feel the same way. I like the Wright pick. Carter was the only defensive player that might have been intriguing there, but I get why they wouldn't feel great drafting him. If I had to make the choice, I think I like making the offensive line better and seeing what Fields can do with better receivers and a better line. I also like the WR and RB they took and again agree that the DT's are the one area of concern. Watching Dexter be so slow to react to the snap is a bit concerning. Maybe thats teachable. Maybe it was actually what they were asking him to do at Florida (read first and then react), but I don't know.
  7. Dexter had a high RAS score. Poles really seems to like players that score high on that (even over production it seems).
  8. Tyrique Stevenson. Not sure I like this pick either
  9. Maybe. But I thought the information all along was that they liked Young the best of the QB's.
  10. Do we know if the first rounder the Texans gave up next year is their own or Cleveland's?
  11. Thanks. Lag would be a big issue for me. Its honestly why I still have kept DirecTV all these years. I hate fast forwarding and rewinding on streaming services, whereas the DirecTV DVR's 30 second skip ahead or the skip back button work pretty instantaneously. The MLBTV app seems to have gotten better over the years, but I definitely remember a few years ago trying to skip just a little ahead or behind and having to then wait like 50 seconds for the stream to start up again and it was awful. Watching football, I frequently hit the 30 sec skip button at the end of a play to jump to the start of the next play. Maybe I will do the trial and see how it works for me.
  12. Do you have your "Read Status" set to "everything" or "content I haven't read"?
  13. Yes, your post on this a few weeks ago was great for me. I made my own "Active Topics" stream and just copied your settings (just changed the date range to the last 14 days instead) and it made the activity page so much better. Thank you, really. I had no idea at the time we could change our settings like that. The default activity page was too busy and now it is much cleaner and similar to the old one.
  14. Does anyone have NFL+? If so, how is it? I'm usually working on Sunday so I don't get to watch the games until later in the day. NFL+ says it has replays of the games as soon as they are over, but I seem to remember looking into it last year (before DirecTV gave me free Sunday Ticket) and seeing a lot of complaints about the app.
  15. Have you set up a custom stream for active topics? That made the activity page much better for me and much more like the old active topics page. If I remember correctly you go to the 3 bars by your username at the top of the page, then Activity->My Activity Streams-->Create new stream You can name the stream, choose what shows (on the all activity page it was a little too busy for me), etc and set it as your default stream so that there is always a link to it on the page (the little icon to the right of the dark mode icon). I also just have that stream as my main bookmark for the site. I have thought it seemed less busy as well, but also thought it was because you seemed to be posting less. Maybe its also because there still old members that haven't yet asked to be part of the social forum.
  16. Where'd you see that? Friend texted it to me but I haven't been able to confirm that anywhere yet. It's someone that usually has good info and doesn't share any stupid rumor he hears. Is that just because it would be a comp pick, though? Not that the bears would be sending anything back.
  17. I don't really get having challenges instead of just going full-automated. In all sports, I am generally in favor of being able to challenge bad calls, but the actual review process sucks. Having the game pause for the review isn't fun. There are even times when I have wondered if I would rather just go back to no reviews (especially in basketball, or when football first started reviewing every touchdown). But with balls and strikes, I feel like it is the one situation where you can just immediately have the call be correct and we won't have the need for challenges.
  18. I hate when the jersey/pant combo for any team is the same color except for white/white, so I never like it when the bears wear navy/navy. I love the bears regular home and away uniforms. I love the throwbacks with the navy jersey/orange numbers a lot. I like the throwbacks they wore this past week a lot, but not as much as the other throwback. I hate when they wear the orange jerseys. The broncos orange jerseys look fine to me, but there is something about the bears jersey that just looks awful.
  19. Santos took the blame for the towel penalty. He said he wasn't trying to dry the field, he was trying to flatten the grass there a bit (like they normally would) but he didn't want his shoe to get soaked in a puddle of water while doing it. I think I heard on a podcast earlier that he also did it with a towel last year in Seattle in that snow game, but I guess since it didn't seem like they were trying to dry the field then, it wasn't penalized. I did think it was weird they just thought they could throw the huge towel to the side in the field of play and think it would be something the refs would be ok with.
  20. Did you say in another thread that you have Directv? If so, the past two years, they have just given me Sunday Ticket Max for free. I didn't even ask. I just got an email saying it was a gift for being a loyal customer. It was in my "promotions" tab of my gmail, not in my main inbox, so it might be easy to miss. I'm not sure how loyal you need to be (certain number of years as a customer) or if it is partly because I had paid for it some years ago so they knew I might be interested. I'll look. I've never had Sunday Ticket before, though I've been a DirecTV customer for 17 years I see at least one email was on July 20. Even if you don't get it, Week 1 is always a free preview, so you will at least get all of the games that week. But also, if you have been a customer that long (I think I am about 15 years), you could call and ask for the loyalty department and see if they would give it to you. You could mention you know people that were given it for free.
  21. yes, I think so I'm sure I'll get Detroit vs. Philly or something instead Did you say in another thread that you have Directv? 22. I think I heard that too. Here are the players drafted right before and after Brisker and their guaranteed money in year 3. The players right before had guaranteed money and the players right after don't. I wish the bears wouldn't care about $100,000 and just sign him already. 46 Josh Paschal $275,000 guaranteed year 3 47 Phidarian Mathis $110,991 guaranteed year 3 48 Jaquan Brisker 49 Alontae Taylor $0 Guaranteed year 3 50 Tyquan Thornton $0 Guaranteed year 3
  23. Where can I watch this online?
