  1. Could that also be due to Gould and Feely being two of the worst kickers in terms of kickoff distance?
  2. Yeah I would definitely say DeCamillis is the worst, even with the performance from the defense. Literally every special teams play was somehow screwed up. It was like the only thing he taught was that once the kicking team touches a punt, you can grab it and try to advance without the risk of fumbling it. As far as any other rules, who cares. When we were looking for our head coach two years ago, I remember reading an article that said Joe D was a candidate for the head job. I searched him and found tons of cowboys fans absolutely hated him. I thought, "that's weird, how can people have such strong negative feelings for a special teams coach. I mean I knew the bears had had a good one, but how can someone be that bad at it." Man they were right.
  3. So presumably DeCamillis conducting his exit interview now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk http://www.gifsforum.com/images/gif/creepy%20smile/grand/dwight-the-office-creepy-smile-eccbc87e4b5ce2fe28308fd9f2a7baf3-332.gif
  4. Tough call. I am actually starting both of them. Demarco scares me this week. I feel like he will be limited, and subbed for quite a bit and that Joique will actually have the better day. However, if I were in your situation, I would probably start demarco because it would annoy me more to not go with my best player only to have him have a good day.
  5. Kelvin Benjamin vs Cleveland or Roddy White @ New Orleans
  6. I am in a league where we start 2 qb's every week. Russell Wilson is normally my number 2 and he is playing at Arizona this week. Am I crazy for even wondering if I should start Clausen this week? Thought process is that Arizona is relatively tough on D and terrible on Offense, leaving Wilson to not have to score many points this week. Clausen may come in and have decent day as some backups have done this year (although he is playing against detroit), and that bears have been great at picking up garbage time points. I don't think I can put my hopes on Jimmy Clausen though. The one time I benched wilson this year based on a matchup it was for Kirk Cousins who had been scoring higher than him for a few weeks only to have that be the week cousins gets benched after 6 points and Wilson went for 45.
  7. Yeah I don't think anything will come of this. It seems like Theo purposefully went out of his way to make sure he wouldn't get caught, like a guy setting up an alibi for himself. Every time he gets asked about it, his answer is something like, "After joe opted out, his agent informed me of it. I didn't believe him, so I contacted the MLB offices to confirm it. Once it was confirmed, I then went ahead and began discussions." It is a little too perfect, but they probably covered themselves so nothing will be found out. Even Maddon, when asked anything about the situation always goes to the line about how "he didn't even know he had the opt out until he got the call in his RV." Even when the question isn't exactly asking about that.
  8. As UMFan mentioned earlier, I fully believe Lebron knew about/required the Love trade before he came back to Cleveland. There is very little doubt in my mind. Maybe they blew other offers out of the water with Wiggins, but not including Wiggins doesn't get the deal done. Minnesota doesn't have to take cleveland's crap just because. I like wiggins, but I also have my doubts about him ever becoming a superstar. And it doesn't matter if Love's numbers go down some. It is about having as many great players on a team as possible.
  9. I have had the highest scoring QB in the league the past two weeks... on my bench. Last week I started Russell Wilson (terrible week) and Kirk Cousins over Flacco. We start two QB's. This week, I put Wilson on the bench, thinking Cousins could have a relatively big day against the Titans. Every single week of the year so far, I have had better scoring QB's on my bench, but the last two weeks have been especially annoying. Today I missed out on about 40 extra points by making the last minute switch to Cousins over Wilson.
  10. I feel like Benjamin is a must. I'd probably go with Sanu too. Yeah, that is what I figured I would go with.
  11. Pick two: Mohamed Sanu @ Colts Kelvin Benjamin @ GB Joique Bell vs Saints
  12. You know they're going to win in the most stunning way possible in game 5. They will just win against Kershaw in Game 4. Something like 5-2 is my guess.
  13. http://i.kinja-img.com/gawker-media/image/upload/s--Pkl_ewH4--/c_fit,fl_progressive,q_80,w_636/fkcl8g7uvlgacuftjhh8.gif
  14. God. You did? Just the bulls ones. I taped them and fast forward through a lot, like free throws, or if McDermott isn't in. I can get through them pretty quickly. But yeah it isn't something I'm proud of.
  15. No just that McDermott is gonna be posting dudes up, draining threes from everywhere, creating off the dribble and a legit nba shotblocker. That is a bit exaggerated. If he fills the kyle korver roll that will be good. No one thinks he is going to be blocking people regularly. I hope he can pass defensively--but I think in Thibs' system he will be fine. We have had a lot of players who aren't that good defensively fit in and still have a good overall D. I have watched all of the SL games and I like that he knows how to move around to try to get open. He is constantly moving, setting screens for pick and pops and of course has been shooting really well. He isn't going to be posting up all the time, but on some switches on picks, if a smaller defender switched to him, he immediately backed them down and called out "post post." This last game, he seemed to be making a concerted effort to take the ball to the rim or make good cuts toward the rim. I know it is summer league and it will be different when the NBA season starts, but he and someone like rose are only going to help each other. He draws a lot of attention for his shooting which creates better spacing... or people collapse on rose as he drives and McDermott will nail the 3. I also think that McDermott will benefit once the season starts in that there will be a real offensive system with plays that will put him in good positions. The SL is a lot of up and down with bad shots by guys who want to get a contract in Europe. In fact, in this last game, there were a ton of times he was open with his hands up calling for the ball at the 3-pt line and one of the random players would put up a bad contested shot instead. As I think David said, I believe his floor is basically what Korver gave us and that is extremely valuable. I also watched a few of Denver's games and I will say that nothing Gary Harris did changed my opinion that he isn't very good. He is fine defensively (which matters obviously, but not as much for the bulls), but offensively he does a lot of standing around a few feet behind the 3-point line, not making his defender work. He did have a good shooting 1st game, but he has been 1/12, 6/20, and 5/18 on FG's since, and 0/4, 1/7, and 2/6 from 3 since. Also, it isn't just that he has missed shots, he misses all over the place. I have seen him airball over the rim, airball short a couple of times, clank where the rim meets the backboard, hit the front of the rim when he is shooting from the side of the court, etc. For someone who was supposed to be a good defense and good shooter guy, I don't think he is much of a good shooter--especially if there is anyone pressuring him.
  16. I just don't see the point given how well Taj played last year and Mirotic coming over. You could argue that PF was the position we least needed to add to. We also have Greg Smith who was injured last year but potentially a solid backup and Anthony Randolph who sucks but is on the books for 1.8 mil. Neither are anywhere as good as Gasol but again they are guaranteed contracts that are unlikely to be traded and on the roster next year. Maybe Miritic doesn't get signed but what else does he do, sit out the season, as it looks like the bridge to Real Madrid has been burned. They have no one over 6" tall who can get his own shot. Pau can. Right, I get what Pau can do. I guess it's just wondering if signing a 33 year old with durability concerns at our deepest position with a quality starter in place is the best allocation of resources. I don't claim to have another solution to propose, I haven't looked at available options outside of Melo. Can't Pau play center as well. He could rotate between PF and C and give Noah much needed rest. Plus there are most likely times Noah will be out with an injury.
  17. I said this in the Draft thread, but I just don't get it with Harris. Seems small, slow and I don't think he will be able to do much besides come off a screen for his shots. I know you mentioned that the bulls offense typically ends with the clock running down and needing a shot that no one can create--and that Harris would be better for that, but I disagree. I don't see Harris being able to create his own shot, but I think McDermott has had to do that all of his years at Creighton. He is crafty and has moves like the fadeaway to create space for himself. He also can give the quick pump-fake which defenders have to respect to move by them and get a more open shot. That said, I don't expect him to be some offensive savior. I expect him to be an offensive weapon off of the bench. A better overall Kyle Korver, which I think he can be. Plus Harris is pretty young, whereas McDermott is better able to come in right away and contribute which fits the bulls window better. Now afflalo would have been great--especially at how cheaply he came. However, if we would have traded for afflalo, would his salary affected our ability to get Melo? We obviously would have less space to sign him outright. Maybe it reduces our leverage for a sign and trade. Maybe Reinsdorf doesn't want to go much over the cap even if we were able to do a sign and trade. I don't blame the front office if getting afflalo makes it more difficult to get Anthony.
  18. Yes, but Jamison a HOFer? At least with Ben Wallace that argument will be settled somewhat soon when he gets into the hall. McDermott will have to be in the league 5 or 6 years before even the biggest idiots recognize that a Jamison comparison is ridiculous. If McDermott comps to Jamison what does that make Embiid? Hakeem? You can compare the way two players play without it making the two players equal. McDermott has moves that remind me of Dirk Nowitzki, that doesn't mean that I think he will be anywhere near as good as Nowitzki. But he has that same 1-footed fallaway that is tough to defend. He obviously has great range. Even how he likes getting the ball at either elbow of the free throw line and facing up his defender. Take a look at around 1:25 - 2:05 of this video. The fadeaway, the drive at 1:40, the trailing the play 3-pointers. Again, he isn't going to be nowitzki--he does those things at 7 feet tall, but you can see similarities.
  19. Yeah I agree with this. I don't know if McDermott was the best pick available, but I am more excited for him than the people you mentioned. I was going to say in my original post that Harris seems like a guy that is just there and you don't really notice him--I even felt like that a lot when he was in college. 35% 3-pt percentage in college last year? McDermott was .458 for his career. And Harris seems like he needs to come off a screen to get a shot. McDermott isn't just a spot of shooter. He can create shots from post up positions and he has [expletive] you range where he can pull up from anywhere and hit a 3. He doesn't remind me of Adam Morrison. He has more of an old man game that still works even if you aren't as athletic. I am fine with the trade.
  20. Not that I am a great scout or anything, but I don't really get all of the Gary Harris love. When watching Michigan State games, I never was enamored with him or thought he was going to be a really good pro. He seems a bit small, slow, and can't really create his own shot.
  21. Maybe. But that also may be more true for a pass-first type of player. Melo likes taking a lot of shots. So does Harden. Howard complained in LA when he didn't get the ball enough. I could see that being somewhat of an issue in Houston. Chicago could end up with a top seed in the East based on their coach, defense, etc. Melo would just have to be a guy on offense that takes a significant amount of shots. That may be more appealing to him.
  22. Ehhh I'll admit that I don't really want Lebron on the Bulls--not that it has a chance of happening. If that is meatball-ian, so be it. I recognize that he is the best player in the league by far, but I still don't really like him for various reasons. The Bulls team has a strong dislike for the heat as well. I like when teams don't like each other. It would be weird if he left to come to the Bulls. I thought it was lame when Ray Allen went from the Celtics to the Heat. I would feel a bit dirty considering how hard I rooted against the heat the past few years. Also, I have seen 6 bulls titles in my life, I don't need another like I need it from the Cubs and Bears. And as much as I hate the heat, I would rather he stay.
