  1. the sec is awful when it comes to basketball, Tennessee is the only decent team in that league EDIT: my bad, forgot about kentucky. But still, the SEC is bad I still don't quite understand why Miss St. was ranked.
  2. Stanford is 7-3 and has beaten a top 10 team 2 weeks running. They should be in the top 15 I said they should've been ranked this week. It's still hilarious.
  3. LSU is the "third wheel" of the SEC, so their BCS ranking is inconsequential It'll hurt Bama and Florida's computer rankings, but there's no way an undefeated SEC team isn't getting the title game.
  4. Decent chance he was knocked out Pretty strong chance he's not literally dead.
  5. Everyone thought Texas would curb stomp them last year. They're a pretty good team. I'd bet on Oregon, but OSU is a deserving BCS team.
  6. I can't stop laughing about USC.
  7. It doesn't matter if it's a "tough" lefty or not. Regardless of the skills of the pitcher, if he throws with his left hand, he will get Granderson out. That includes all-star starters like the ones you mentioned, 5th starters, closers, and journeymen relievers. I'm sure a few of the more skilled left-handed peanut guys at Wrigley would probably get him out. HE IS A PLATOON PLAYER!!! Learn it, love it. is he a platoon player if he's by far our best defensive option in cf? I'm pretty sure a Reed Johnson (or somebody worse) would hit enough to make up the difference on defense.
  8. That's dumb. Heh to each their own. I dont care if anyone wears 23 around the league, but it wouldnt be the 1st time the league has retired a certain number. I think this is also a way for Lebron to change to his favorite number, which hes hinted hes wanted to for awhile now. I thought the Gretzky thing was a slap in the face to Jackie Robinson. Oh this guy, integrated the sport, and was helpful to the civil rights movement! Yeah, well this guy scored a [expletive] ton of goals and made hockey popular in LA for 3 years!!
  9. If all Granderson did was struggle against really tough lefties he probably wouldn't be worse than me against them.
  10. Oh my God, WSR his #s vs lefties have been posted like 10 times in this thread.
  11. That's dumb.
  12. Yeah, UZR for 1B is no good.
  13. I know nothing about that guy, but I love him.
  14. Isn't the Pac 10 somewhat like the Big 10 where they take into account the academics of a school? I mean, I know ASU and Oregon St. aren't exactly Harvard, but I'm not sure the California schools would be so welcoming to a Boise St.
  15. The last time we weren't in contention for a playoff spot. 2006.
  16. Jim Bowden used to call other GMs at like 4 AM offering ludicrous trade offers.
  17. I assume the 2 prospects are Selby and Kendrick? I don't know much about Kendrick, but haven't heard much regarding Selby and IU, any estimate on your chances?
  18. To answer CCP's other question, I have a hard time seeing more than 4 wins for either Iowa or Indiana. Let's say 4for Iowa, 3 for Indiana. What do you mean by surprised by Rivers? As in better or worse than you thought? Or just different?
  19. What? No. I can't think of a package of talent that great being given up since the Teixiera trade(which was definitely bigger) The Indians didn't get that much for Cliff Lee and you want to give that up for a platoon CF?
  20. Iowa over Indiana? Yes. Indiana's more talented, but I think Iowa's system is more conducive to knocking off teams that outclass them.
  21. Straight from my ass Big Ten predictions: MSU Purdue Ohio St. Illinois Minnesota Michigan Wisconsin Northwestern Penn St. Iowa Indiana I'm assuming about a half-season from Coble to split the difference. That Coble injury could help Wisconsin sneak into the tourney and keep Bo's streak alive. I feel bad for Talor Battle. Michigan St. is a scary scary team.
  22. Yeah, I was debating between the Brandon Phillips is horribly overrated post or my standard I'm scared of the Reds post. I think I made the wrong call. I'd rather run Fontenot/Baker out there.
  23. Am I the only one that thinks a Coble-less Northwestern still finishes ahead of IU and Iowa? Of course I have NU pegged for 7th in the conference with him.
  24. How can you prove beyond a reasonable doubt that the ball is in his hands in that photo (I'm pretty sure I know the angle and photo you are referring to)? It looks like it is, but there's another angle where it looks like it's out. So which one is right? The only one you can argue shows that it's out (from the front) looks that way because the ball is obscuring the end of his fingers on his right hand. Except it doesn't need to be proven to be out. It needs to be proven to be not out. The call was that the shot was good and counted. So basically, only one angle suggests the ball to be not out, and the rest are completely inconclusive. I don't see how that's enough to overturn. Because the angle that shows the ball in his hand is conclusive evidence. If there was another angle that showed it out of his angle, then it would be inconclusive.
