  2. That's almost certainly not true.
  3. Yep, just +3 by 3rd order Win %. Cleveland and Oakland are hilariously off pace.
  4. I was just going to look that season up. For his career, opposing batters only out-OPSd him by .049 (.036 as a Cub)
  5. I think Stanley's has been a Cubs favorite for a while. I think Wood and Dempster brought Eddie Vedder there for Sunday karaoke. SON OF A [expletive]. Yeah, Rizzo is there all the time.
  6. If we tie for the 5th wild card spot(with a "6th" team), we'll have to play a tiebreaker game on Monday, and whatever pitcher is next in the rotation would start the 1 game playoff.
  7. vogelbach and someone right? It's a big old bucket of meh. Vogelbach, Contreras, Black, Johnson
  8. Law's response was weird, but the guy was asking him how excited to be about his first 19 PAs of professional baseball.
  9. Nothing you goobers have had to hear from San Francisco's team can be as bad as having Sutcliffe for a half inning.
  10. The Cubs have like 2 potential Rule 5 picks, and they'll both be rostered.
  11. Derwood is just going to assume somebody registered new user names to downvote him.
  12. There's no way you get called next year. I'd be surprised if you were called within 5.
  13. That's what got us into this mess. Spending money is what Jim Hendry would do.
  14. Morrissey Kaplan Haugh
  15. I think it's easy convince ross to be a bench coach I think you're completely making that up and have no idea what you're talking about. It worked in Mighty Ducks 2.
  16. Their TV deal isn't up until after 2019
  17. Hendry's 2nd team had a shot at sustained success that could replace talent in-house and then [expletive] pitchers and [expletive] Dusty Baker.
  18. Exactly. Does theo deserve praise? His goal, and the reason for sacrificing 3 seasons was to build a team of young cost controlled stars that makes the playoffs most years. Well he's built a team of young cost controlled players that is in the thick of the playoff hunt, and probably a year earlier than originally outlined. So if you measure the job the FO is done based on the results, he's on his way to looking pretty successful. Like I said earlier I think it's fair if you reserve judgment and praise for 3-4 more years to see how many times they make the playoffs/World Series. Because yes it is a big gamble to punt 3 years to execute the plan. If they only make the playoffs 1-2 times and most of the young players are a bust, then yes Theo failed imo. It's a year later than originally outlined. The whisper campaign was always about 2014. Nobody ever considered 2016 the first year the team would be competing for the playoffs, because that would be stupid.
  19. And I bet Kyle wears his tighty whities inside out to save money at the laundromat.
  20. I don't think the Cardinals see any of that money for a couple of years Miraculously, the Cardinals are likely to spend money that they know they'll make in the future. It's a novel concept that I wish the Cubs would try.
  21. If they make the playoffs twice from 2012-2019, you don't reevaluate and question, you call it a failure.
