He was talking about Villanova when he said Wildcats. Pre-season ratings may explain the difference between those 2. (Pomeroy's preseason ratings lessen with each game played until they are completely removed sometime in January.) Villanova also rates out really well in not having any sweaty goblin douchebags on their bench.

This is from a Sully article in today's Trib. I hope to God that we didn't back out of a possible AGon deal solely because we refused to trade Cashner. I'll be more pissed if we refused to trade Cashner and plan on wasting him as a setup man his entire career.

Not atrocious, pretty decent actually, just nowhere near his numbers on the surface. Walk rate was awful.

Was anyone else driven insane by the constant referring to Pittsburgh's QB as "Ben?" It's annoying enough with "Brett" or "Peyton." You're not friends with these guys use their last name, especially when their first name happens to coincide with somebody else's last name.

I'd guess the Cubs didn't want to trade for and then sign the guy, and only got involved late when they realized a deal was going to happen with somebody. They also might just want their name out there on big guys while settling for the mediocre 3rd tier guys they were after from the start. I agree on both of those points. Which is really disheartening considering all the money coming off the books next year. I'm really starting to think we're going to settle into a payroll around 100-110 mill longterm. Which would make AZPhil's comment about Ricketts wanting to run us like the Twins is much more accurate than being ran like the Red Sox. Hey, I'd happily take being the Twins over the last decade. Too bad the Cubs think Nick Punto and Alexi Casilla are the reasons for their success.

At first I found it annoying, but then decided it's nice to have the option of watching a game just about every night for nearly a month. Yes, but I thought we couldn't play too many bowls after the 1st because it interferes with studying and what not. Most schools don't go back until the week after new year's at the earliest. Illinois was always after Martin Luther King weekend.

ouch. that sucks for Temple, but finishing with losses to Ohio and Miami (OH) to go 5-3 in the MAC isn't the way to endear yourself to bowls. And UCONN beat WVU, Pitt, Syracuse and South Florida at the end of the year. Sucks when a team you beat goes to a bowl and you don't, but it seems pretty clear that UCONN had the better season. You mean MAC Champions Miami (OH)? You mean NFC West Champion St. Louis Rams?? -

He hacked DJ White after Pruitt missed free throws that would've won the game, but the refs didn't call it. Pruitt went on to miss more free throws in overtime to lose the game.
