  1. This was RichRod's 3rd year at Michigan
  2. I don't get this unless you want to have an opening to offer Pujols half the ticket sales in '11.
  3. Anything less than 15-5 would be mildly disappointing, worse than 12-8 would be a [expletive] disaster
  4. Move Fukudome to 1b and let him start the first half of the season with Laroche coming off the bench. Switch them up during the 2nd half of the season. Find new RF who's not Tyler Colvin. Actually, I'd bench Fukudome once the calendar hits May. Last year was his first bad May
  5. I blame Mark Dantonio
  6. Maybe the Bulls can move to Seattle
  7. The Cubs aren't signing Konerko no matter the cost. They want a left-handed 1B
  8. I don't if that's exactly how I put it. I probably said that they wouldn't trade him and I certainly was wrong. However, I'm not the one that will be facing a huge backlash for doing so. That's all on the ownership and GM of the Padres. Good luck selling tickets this year, boys! Last year was the 2nd lowest attendance in Petco history. How much worse can it get than barely drawing 20,000 as a first place team against an in-state rival?
  9. Why do we need to rush to sign Adam LaRoche??
  10. Ricketts seems like an odd choice.
  11. An Ok reliever and a rich man's Ryan Shealy?
  12. I'll go with 1/8 with a second year vesting option of 10 mill if he hits certain plateau's......Most likely RBI based(signifying the Cub's diligent usage of metrics) Can't be performance based. Would have to be PAs or ABs or Games played, etc.
  13. The Twins have a payroll pushing 100M. They can afford to commit to players long term with that kind of wiggle room. You don't tie up 1/3 of your payroll on 1 player. And why would they get a similar package for 2 months of Gonzalez compared to a full season? That's a myth along the lines of contract years, pixies, and Blockbuster Video.
  14. 6.3m to be exact. And look how they fixed that problem. :hello: I meant 2012, when he'll cost 20M+
  15. 2 MORE SLIP PAST HENDRY'S DONUT STAINED FINGERS
  16. He had an ERA over 5 in AA and gave up a ton of hits. And he's never really had dominant strikeout numbers. Given that he was a first round pick of the Red Sox and was once a two way player, he's probably overrated. Also, since he's on the Padres the chances of him dominating the Cubs for a decade are not all that great. Maybe he'll face them once a year, possibly twice, and almost certainly never in the playoffs. The Padres apparently can't afford anyone that makes over $400K, so maybe a quarter of a decade. As soon as his arby bonuses kick in, it's time to cut bait. Yeah Adrian Gonzalez was gonna be really cheap next year.
  17. Tom Crean is not interested in the Michigan football job.
  18. It honestly took me a few minutes before I realized this was about Cliff
  19. I'm almost certain the Marshall to the rotation ship has sailed.
  20. Yeah he worked for Randy Walker at both Miami OH and NU. Which also means he got to work on the same staff as Terry Hoeppner while at Miami so I'm hoping some of Terry's enthusiasm rubbed off on him. I just hope Kevin is able to find a good DC too. Ron Zook used to be a DC.
  21. They're not comparable situations at all, and if they were, signing one stupid contract doesn't mean you have to sign nothing but stupid contracts. (Unless you're Jim Bowden)
  22. Hopefully they don't make the tournament at all after getting an embarrassing at-large berth last year.
  23. I'm not so sure. The logic of this front office appears to only stretch back as far as a year. The bullpen sucked last year, ergo, the most important thing to have for the future is a reliable bullpen.
