Can't follow at work but what are they saying about adjusting for that? Only YE Yang is within 10 strokes according to the leaderboard I'm looking at. They should keep the rule and let Rory win today. You still have anyone in the top 60. I don't see why they'd need to adjust it.

I personally wouldnt be an any rush to trade either of these guys without a significant return. Yep trading either of those guys signals a rebuild mode. Otherwise, you have to go out and find a similar pitcher, for similar money, on the free agent market this offseason. Doesn't make a lot of sense. And I doubt they go the rebuild route. You're going to need to pay $18 million for a guy with Zambrano's numbers? If Z's #s stay where they are, then certainly not, if he gets back to the level he's been at the past 4-5 years, he's barely overpaid.

Sure am glad we trained him how to pitch out of the pen.

After yesterday's game, the Cubs have 0 starting pitchers with ERA+ above 100(besides Cashner's 5.1 innings) They only have 6 pitchers total with ERA+ above 100 and I'm not sure I would've guessed one of them with 15 guesses.

That's...ambitious. I'll hope for 16-8, which could get us within 5 games or so.

If Derek Jeter dies before he's up for election he's got a chance at unanimous.

How do you say so many words without saying anything?

The problem with the "but if they do get taken they'll likely get sent back" is that, for the most part, the guys that you get back are the guys that you don't want and the guys you don't get back are the only guys you'd really miss. I.e. "Oh, PITT is sending Lake back, they've decided he's crap" vs. "Oh, crap. Look at what Lake is doing for PITT." The Cubs recent history says otherwise. We've drafted and kept: Mike Parisi David Patton Juan Mateo Scott Chiasson (partially via the Hinske trade) Drafted and returned: Tim Lahey Had drafted and lost: Donnie Veal Jason Smith Andy Sisco Luke Hagerty Jason Szuminski Bo Porter Had drafted and returned: Randy Wells Lincoln Holdzkom Jason Dubois

Charles Gipson was who was picked off 1B by Borowski. He was in Cubs camp in Spring Training that same year.

Too soon. All it was was a few tipped cars.

He looooves using the word gotten.

There aren't as many everyday jobs available.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Clevenger left off.

Expanding the DH is an interesting topic. I've read several places this season that more players than not HATE to DH and would rather play the field as well. That makes me cautiously optimistic that the damn thing will be gone within my lifetime. Players are idiots. There is no chance of the DH being gone in your lifetime. There is an infinitely higher chance that it's adopted by the NL. If there's no chance of it being gone, then by definition there's an infinitely higher chance of it being adopted by the NL

Media guys hate Wrigley because the pressbox is a piece of [expletive]. I couldn't care less about their accommodations

I'm more curious as to why you'd use ESPN to look up stats.

You must be looking at AL only. Ryan Roberts is at 819 and Chipper's at 790. ETA: Blake, Wigginton, and Dobbs are all ahead of Betemit as well.

After tonight, Jeff Baker will join that list.

    Always bet against Wittenmeyer.

Props to Soxman in the Redeye this morning who said to KISS (Keep it simple stupid) by moving Florida, Houston, and Milwaukee to the AL. Finally somebody gets it!
