Next person that suggests rebuilding the grandstands in the same place without obstructions is getting shanked.

What a buffoon. Can't wait til his loser kid flames out. -
Maybe you should learn how to add up to 12.

It's bizarre to compliment the Cell in the same post you're criticizing Busch III for poor placement and sightlines.

Wow, Escobar's hitting like a SS from 19 dickety 3 -
The only reason we need a video board is for advertising dollars. They're fairly worthless in baseball stadiums

A suburban park is the worst idea ever and people who bring up the idea should be banned from life.

Or how he has only gotten to the free throw line like 16 times in 5 games. He should be getting there 8-10 times a game minimum. Maybe he's trying to save my skull from the damage caused from beating it against the wall when people bitch about him going to the line too much.

It's played out only because there's only so long you can win 90 games on a shoestring budget. I'd be very happy to let a guy with a history of exploiting baseball people's idiocy try and do it again with twice the payroll. I'd be afraid that the same things that happened with MacPhail would happen with Beane. It's not easy to change your philosophy when you are transitioning from a small market with certain expectations to a big market with different expectations. I'm not sure Beane would be that much better with a bigger payroll. MacPhail was completely different though. He was completely beholden to the way a good baseball man would do it and apparently trying out for role as commisioner the entire time. I don't see Beane holding down payroll just to keep the establishment happy. I don't think Beane would keep down payroll but I would be worried about an unwillingness for large contracts. A small market stays away from large, long contracts as much as it can. But that's not a good trait for a team like the Cubs to have. Would Beane try so hard to be efficient that he would end up keeping the Cubs away from the best players/ I don't see why you'd think that. You assume he'd sign nothing but 2-3 year deals for mid-level players?

It's why I'd like him as a president, implementing a talent evaluation system, using actual stats, and then letting the GM spend the money.

We could just use "the next MJ" if you like that better. I prefer the next Kobe

Btw, GOAT may be may least favorite acronym of all time.

The Red Sox world series combined with his stroke have really marginalized what Gammons can give you. It's sad.

2011 Cubs Draft Pick Signings

Pretty sure that was a joke but Simpson signed June 19th. Pawelek actually signed with us during the draft' date=' if memory serves.[/quote'] That's just cause he was short on cash, and had a hankering for some KFC. And how is that any different than his current situation? Nobody's offering him a million dollars. I'm sure he's still a fat load though. -
I don't know why you'd think Ricketts would be against it. I get the feeling the next job Beane takes (assuming it's in baseball) will be a team president, not a GM. This would be great.

No.

Is Noah really that expendable? Obviously you would look elsewhere to grab another center and not just go with Asik, but are you really going to find anything better? I mean, Jermaine O' Neal got upwards of 6M. Are you ok with Asik getting 30 mins/game? Wouldn't this torpedo the Bulls frontcourt depth?
-
Ouch! Good one. Why didn't he just give him a dollar bill? We all know that LeBron borrows money from CC, not the other way around Oooh, I like this one.

Game 2 vs. Spurs: 25-7-6 (2nd Scorer: Gibson -15) Game 3 vs. Spurs: 28-8-7 (2nd scorer: Gooden - 13) Game 4 vs. Spurs: 24-6-6 (2nd scorer: Gooden - 11) 9/21 - L 9/23 - L 10/30 - L Guess he had great games 1 and 3 this year.

I won't even consider him in the same stratosphere until Lebron wins an NCAA title.
-
It's possible, but unlikely to ever happen. Any player that's that great is going to get sick of playing with Jamario Moon and Moe Williams and look elsewhere. If Jordan got stuck on the 80s-90s Mavs, he wouldn't have been any less of a player just because Roy Tarpley was his #2.

Fantasy stats IMO
-
I'd put the over/under on Lebron titles at 3.5
