  1. The Difference between the '08 Cubs and the '07 Brewers, and '07 Reds is that none of them were expected to do anything and those stretches proved to be flukes, where as the '08 Cubs have been labeled one of the best teams in the NL since pre season. Hopefully the '08 Cards can join the '07 Reds and Brewers. I have no clue what you just said there.
  2. The '08 Cardinals have started their season 36-27 The '07 Reds (Final record 72-90) had a 63 game stretch where they went 36-27. (This isn't to say the Cardinals are a 72-90 level team, just pointing out that these runs happen, but since this one's happened at the beginning of the year, everyone freaks out. And the time to freak out was a month ago when the Cardinals were 9 games over, not today, a month later when they've done nothing but tread water.)
  3. One of the weakest careers, but Berroa's #s were quite good as a rookie.
  4. UMFan fears success, we'll be 30 games over 500 in September and he'll be talking about it's not a team that can win in the playoffs.
  5. 3 teams currently have a winning record on the road. Wonder if the Red Sox fans are freaking out over their road record. The Brewers built up a good record by being lucky with regards to wins and losses compared to their peripheral numbers. I guess we'll also ignore that of that 24-10 record they were 8-5 on the road
  6. My CentSports 4 game parlay for tonight. Tampa -1.5 (+145) Arizona -1.5 (+105) NYM -1.5 (+135) St. Louis (-122) Then a separate bet on Rockies-Brewers Over on 10.5
  7. The Brewers were 14 games over 500 on July 2nd last year. Less than 2 months later, they were under 500. People act like the Cardinals are 25 games over 500 right now. (Though funnily enough the first example that popped into my head about this was the 77 Cubs who peaked at 25 over on June 28th, and finished at 500.)
  8. Do I need to go through baseballreference and find a list of teams with similar records through 60 games who weren't very good teams? I could probably find 10 examples from Cubs teams alone.
  9. In a game that actually affect us, Colorado up 5-0 on Milwaukee.
  10. This isn't the NFL, what the hell was with that signaling from Cousin? If the tag is applied with the ball in the glove, it doesn't matter that the ball pops out after the tag is removed.
  11. Ronny looks like he's guessing a lot more now. To be expected with such sparse playing time, but it's hard to fault Lou for it(can't believe I'm saying that)
  12. fixed Oh good, people probably thought I was talking about the other Ponson being discussed in this thread.
  13. The night is young, I'm starting the drinking soon.
  14. IIRC, Cousins spells his name really stupidly, Deryl I believe.
  15. It wasn't too close to call. It was obvious.
  16. I assume you're on gamecast. That was a line drive off the pitcher's glove.
  17. And promptly hit a 1 out double in the bottom of the 9th.
  18. I would imagine something along the lines of a 3-6 DP where the tag needs to be applied at 2nd?
  19. BUT WHO'S GONNA PICK UP THE CHECK???!!?!? liked Chip, but good God> Brenly's made for the color position because he was a catcher and a manger, the 2 positions I'd want most in a color guy.(pitcher would be 3rd)
