If this were a poll, Brenly would be slaughtering Stone methinks. Len & Bob are great. Brenly gets his axes to grind(Pie & Soriano) and I disagree with him often(hit and run) but he's an enjoyable presence up there. I rather enjoyed Len's Larry King impersonation last night. Just had to give him credit on that, cause I didn't see it anywhere. -

That seems like a really passive way to deal with prospects. That method guarantees you never trade a prospect at his high point. Now, I'm not saying the Rays should pick a guy and deal him, I think they're best to save their big bullets for '09, but I can't say I approve of taking a wait and see approach and just trading whichever is worse once they get close to the big leagues. Shouldn't a team's scouts be able to approximate who they see as the best bets, then if their opinion is different than that of the majority, you trade the guy you value least relative to his perceived worth. -
Why? Because of Kerry's approach against Pierre. The quote was posted earlier about Kerry showing more respect to Pierre as a hitter than he's ever received.

I don't remember that game at all. I was gonna say the game where Kerry pulled up lame in '04. That was the beginning of the end for Kerry as a starter. You know why that game is significant though, right? Wasn't quoting your game, was quoting UMFan's.

surge protectors are your friend. That's why everything I own is plugged into one, including the two things that got toasted. You should probably use more than 1.

Glaus currently has a .264 avg & .370 obp - his career #'s are a .254 avg and .359 obp. Duncan is currently in the minor leagues. What makes you think both of these guys are gonna improve? What are the odds Carp returns and immediately is at Cy Young status? Only in Dreamland is Wainwright and the magical return of Carpenter the best 1-2 punch in the NL. Wainwright's #'s are currently worse than Dempster, Zambrano, Webb, Haren, Volquez, Lincecum & Sheets. Well, I would think that Glaus and Duncan are going to improve because Glaus is slugging .090 points below his career average and Duncan is slugging .121 below average. I was saying that Wainwright/Carpenter would be the best playoff contenders 1-2, which is why I didn't count Volquez/Harang or Cain/Lincecum. If you really believe that Dempster is going to keep it up, go ahead and replace Carpenter with Wellemeyer. You really think Carpenter's going to jump back into being a great pitcher after TJS?

Nah they've hated us for awhile due to the road nature of their games against us at Miller. Cub fans are hated by a lot of people for this reason.
