    Auburn's DC has also left to take the DC position at Central Florida. Makes you wonder if something is up at Auburn. Although it's hard to imagine that they could get in trouble for anything considering that they were completely exonerated out of what appeared to be a pretty obvious and major violation.     Nothing irrational about the parent company dictating what assets it wants, but it's very irrational for the parent company to tell them to pay whatever it takes. I'm sure they meant it literally

    That's all kinds of goofy. So a Canadian broadcast conglomerate is dictating the Jays' baseball operations? Maybe next they'll ask Jose Bautista to manage their 4G rollout. They also own the team. That's all kinds of goofy. The Cubs have some sort of NEWSPAPER COMPANY telling them how much money they should spend? Have you heard this one guys??

    I never really considered the possibility that Darvish could make more money staying in Japan, if he doesn't get a strong offer from the winning bidder. I kinda assumed he'd have very little leverage with whichever club wins the posting. Any particular reason he'll stop making money off the field after leaving Japan?

    A little bit too much information. But yeah, I lived right by the Black Duck for about 10 years. Wow. My sister lived around the corner from you for a couple years. Ugh, this is terrifying; I live right down the street from there. She doesn't live anywhere near there now. Hasn't for probably 5-6 years. Not coincidentally around the time I returned to the Chicago area.

    Retweeted by Ace Maybe I'm just stating the obvious but my thought was he was talking about the chances of getting theo when the GM search process started. But then if he's saying that, he's saying the Cubs have a better than 2% chance of getting Darvish? Maybe somebody who's paid to write should learn how to write.

    If you want to be a crazy-eyed optimist, they could be pushing to get Fielder done before the winner of the Darvish bid is revealed. That way the loser(s) on Darvish don't up the ante on Fielder.

    Shocker, they're ecstatic. Malzahn contacted the ASU AD last week to inquire about the job. He's making 4x what Freeze was making, took some serious urging from their boosters to bring the salary up to where it was an acceptable move from Malzahn.

    It was apparently between him and Weis at KU. Not that KU is anything special, and Ark St. could probably beat KU's ass right now, but still. Seems like a huge step down. Not just prestige-wise but also 2 million dollars wise.

    Agreed, but I threw that in there to say-if that's what other teams were thinking back in 2010 when they had very little reason to, what are they thinking after his 2011 where he has warning signs popping up in a lot of his numbers? Then you keep him.
