That sounds like a really stupid idea. Might not actually be that far off, though. 6-9 months is the general estimate and the season doesn't start til November. It doesn't make the idea any less stupid. The NBA regular season is meaningless, and Thibs doesn't seem capable of taking his foot off the gas. If Rose doesn't play til January, who [expletive] cares? What's the worst case scenario there, they wind up a 3 seed?

Easily the best guy we took from Utah. PLEASE play like this if we face Miami. PLEASE. Nobody could make anything against them from the outside last year. Korver shot like Chris Dudley. They shot 31% from 3 against one of the best defensive teams in the NBA. The horror!

Rips didnt for a while and just magically started going in. Itll come. Yea, he hurt his ankle, not his wrist or something. I suspect this is just rust. He did miss a lot of time. Luckily you don't use your ankles on jump shots.

You must have an extremely positive opinion of Derrick Rose. There's this other poster around here with almost your same exact handle that trashes Rose all the time. You should set him straight. I've seen imb before, seems like a nice guy.

Why is LaHair a shorter-term player? If he turns into a pumpkin at some point in 2012, so be it. You can't get much for him in trade now anyway. If he doesn't, the Cubs have many years of club control. Probably the same as Rizzo, in fact, although I haven't double-checked. (And no need to remind me of each guy's age. It's irrelevant to the issue of years under team control.) I may be wrong, but since LaHair was signed as a minor league free agent, professional service time counts (not just major league). So he has 4 years left including this year. I think you're wrong.

Size, with Mason being 3-5 inches taller? Age when drafted out of HS? Both irrelevant? Ben Revere at age 20 was (similarly) putting up huge BA's in single-A, and even hitting XBHs more frequently than Williams; speedy OF is actually a relative area of depth in our system, too - so move over, Matt Szczur, somebody even slappier's in town! getting a 150 lb. project OF as the main prize for Garza might just make me physically ill Slappy 150 lb. project sounds a bit like Starlin Castro circa 2009. Just sayin. You don't see the difference between a 150 lb Dominican 19 year old and a 150 lb US 20 year old?
