    Don't forget Cardenas 2-3 with 3 RBI. His bandwagon sure is lonely. I'm still on it (though I haven't been on here to proclaim it really). He could still be a very useful major league player. I actually think he'd be a nice 2 hole hitter or maybe a guy who can hit in the 7th spot and give you some offense down there. I wonder if Stewart keeps struggling the way he has if Cardenas gets first crack at 3b? If nothing else, he could make Baker, Barney or Dewitt expendable for a team looking to add depth at the deadline. I don't think we'd get fair return on Barney, and I don't think we'd get anything for DeWitt. I'm fine trading Baker for a live arm.

    i don't think amaro thinks that way though. he'd just sign him for like $20m a year and 7 years, then worry about the repercussions later. Like the repercussions of the owner telling him no, I'm not [expletive] spending 200M so you can put out the worst offense in baseball again?

    When you figure in Pence's arb award, the Phillies have ~125M tied up while losing their LF, CF, 3B, C, and 2 starting pitchers. All while paying corpses to play the right isde of the infield.

    10%. Sure, they'll throw in their hat into the ring for PR, but of course come up 20-30 million and two year's short. They aren't going to sign Hamels. I actually tend to agree with you there. I just don't see Ruben Amaro letting him go, and I see him bidding against himself and driving the price for elite FA pitching through the roof in the process. I wouldn't be surprised if the Phillies give him a contract that matches/exceeds Sabathia's/Lee's. How high do you think the Phillies payroll is going to be?

    The real problem I have is with the 15 morons that voted neither of them first. Include the 8 idiots that didn't have Pops in the top 3 and the 18 fools that didn't have Thibs in the top 3. I could accept arguments for Vogel or Hollins. The Rivers and Karl votes are terrible. ETA: Why did Monty Williams get a second place vote??

    That's 30 games a season against teams you're not competing against. so? if everyone in the division has the same inter league schedule, it evens out, though. Do people poop their pants over the fact that the Bears have to play the entire AFC West or whatever? I mean, that's 25% of your schedule against teams you're not competing against The last model I want MLB to follow when it comes to schedules is the NFL
