Interesting read on the loopholes. I say we set up a handshake agreement with teams friendly to us (Padres?) to sign each other's players for small amounts, then immediately releasing them.
I said as much in the game thread. The crowd was a bunch of stupid pricks who started booing by ball 2. ETA: I don't think he was yelling at the crowd though.
Hey, well, that's not true. lol seriously, what a weird comparison. Look, if you don't think Glen Davis could man the OF, I don't know what to tell you.
I'm mostly working off of CCP's numbers here, but without amnestying Boozer, does dumping Watson, Brewer, Korver do anything? Doesn't that basically ensure pt for Butler and Lucas, since there'll be no cap space to sign replacements?
Even go back to last year with Mike Trout. He got hit twice. The first was by Kevin Gregg in the bottom of the 12th with LA down two, a runner on first and no outs. The second was by Jamey Wright in the top of the 9th with LA up one, a runner on first and two outs. There's no way the first was intentional and I'm going to take an educated guess and say the second wasn't either. Jamey Wright was probably trying to throw an intentional walk.
So? Why is your opinion so significant in the situation? It certainly didn't do anything to prevent the giant incident. Why do you even care? It's FINE to think he's an idiot. People thought Clemens and Gibson were [expletive]...Guess how much that mattered or what tha did to stop them or the general activity? I wouldn't lump Bob Gibson in with Hamels or Clemens. While Gibson was a tough pitcher, who threw inside, he was NEVER called dirty or anything like that. He NEVER went head hunting. He didn't like batters who leaned over the plate and would brush them back. He didn't like for the other team to show off, he'd send a message. Opposing players respected him, feared him but they NEVER called him dirty. Bob Gibson was a [expletive] [expletive] who I wouldn't spit on if he was on fire. I hope he steps on a landmine.

I have opinions about lots of people who can't give a [expletive] about what I think. Bob Gibson IS an [expletive]. Why does it offend you that somebody besides you has an opinion?
oh you're right, our worst reliever came into a tight game and immediately gave up two BBs, I beg for Dale's forgiveness. And then? a ball was hit hard that luckily went right to a fielder. You honestly think this was the best spot to let marmol work through his [expletive]? The (lucky) result doesn't justify the bad decision. Would you rather we waited for the first 6 run lead or deficit we run into? Letting Marmol sit in the pen not pitching isn't going to accomplish anything.
