  1. The Giles collission was in '03, but it happened on July 11th. His coming back out and pitching 3 more innings in that game utter lunacy.
  2. The issue every time this comes up is that people hear racism and are picturing Kaplan in a white hood burning a cross on Soriano's front lawn. (Non-white is non-white) Racism can exist without being overt, or even intentional.
  3. yeah, sammy was hated by many back in the 99/00/01 timeframe when "he only hit HR when it didn't matter" was the main complaint. Not to mention the seething hatred people had for him from '92-'97.
  4. Like anyone's talking to Steve Stone. Not just Cubs FO, I mean anyone.
  5. His September OPS will probably be 350
  6. What the [expletive] is Russell [expletive] Brand doing at the closing ceremonies.
  7. I'm sure he'll have many interesting things to say.
  8. The NBA crossed the line into mockery quite some time ago. Some time shortly after the Bulls started winning titles no doubt.
  9. Agreed. Nor do I think Rizzo can either (especially when you're projecting out 3-4 years in advance). I don't see these guys on the same team unless the NL adopts the DH. Have there even been rumors of this happening? Only in Mojo's sick and twisted brain.
  10. Counter examples don't make it right. Should I list all the players who started off looking promising, had a hiccup and never recovered? There are more of those, btw, they're just less memorable. How many of them were as talented/touted and successful as Castro? And at what ages? Not a perfect comp and injuries had something to do with it, but this is one I never liked seeing on Castro's otherwise amazing comp lists: http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/t/templga01.shtml Any struggles can be directly attributed to the excessive use of 'r' in his first name. Or the excessive use of coke in his free time.
  11. No 21 isn't when a player should on his steepest incline, that's 22.
  12. http://www.safsal.co.il/images/Marcus_Fizer.jpg
  13. Can't help but chuckle at that. Shoot him a tweet WSR.
  14. Tim Beckman, 8 assistants, and 3 million persian warriors are waiting in his parking lot as we speak. They backed up a truck full of coaches.
  15. And it's good for the league. "Super Teams" make the product better and the league more intriguing/exciting to watch, imo. I'd rather there be 3-5 teams with 3+ all stars on their roster than have it be spread out where every team has one and the rest of team is made up of [expletive] role players. But that's just me, I get the argument for the other way around too. Also contraction of 3-4 teams would be nice to concentrate the talent even more. Which is why the NBA and MLB are more popular than the NFL, where they have a straight cap that prevents super teams... Yeah that's why the NFL is popular.
  16. Why? They aren't going to win [expletive]. They were one game from winning it all. I wouldn't want that to eat at me all year long. I mean to be so close and choke it away. It has to eat at Ryan. http://stat.mobli.com/media_stills/media_6406300.jpg
  17. Did he age 8 years this season too? He's twenty [expletive] two and baseball is not played on a bell curve.
  18. So you guys want to be Celtics fans then?
  19. And skyline is awful.
  20. I feel like 2008 was the last season I watched nearly every game, and I have zero recollection of Lieber being on that team. Maybe I was too busy watching us beat the NL's ass all year long or something. He was a long man, then maybe got a couple starts, got hurt which extended to "hurt" came back in September and just stopped pitching shortly thereafter. I can't remember if he just left the team during September, or denied the offer to travel with the team during the playoffs (while not on the active roster)
  21. If Cody Zeller was committed to education then why did he go to Indiana?
  22. I believe is -800 last I saw, with Illinois running 2nd at +500
  23. I bet that guy didn't really bet 20 bucks.
  24. Yes, because the scholarship list that includes Cody Zeller as a senior has a lot of relevance. THE ZELLER FAMILY IS COMMITTED TO EDUCATION BECAUSE LUKE DIDN'T LEAVE AFTER 1 YEAR
