Sign Tanaka and trade Shark the next day? That was my theory before any TV deal news broke. I think people need to realize our starting OF is Lake-Sweeney-Schierholtz backed up by (Josh Vitters and Justin Ruggiano) before being worried about winning too many games.

Seems like a huge risk to me, at that price. Not every player that jumps has the impact of Ichiro...there's been quite a few, expensive, flameouts. Sure. But what are we going to do with that $25m that isn't risk? Save it for the next time a really good 25 year old who plays our biggest organizational position of need hits the fa market

45 degree boner for me Incidentally, according to the interwebs, it would take a 40-inch boner to make the average human man to pass out. Tanaka's got me at 35 right now, and the actual signing of him might get me the last five. I'll never understand white guys talking having boners to non-sexual things. Damn this post gets me hard

Jed says they have not had hands tied on budget. Investment in minors and front office staff took $$$. Does have $$$ for majors roster now. Castro been living with Cubs trainer for past 2 months. Didn't come to spring training in shape. Physical development to improve power #'s. Dodged question of 'lifestyle/attitude change." Would not commit to Shark as 1-2 or even 3. Rizzo needs improvement as 2 strike hitter. Tanaka negotiations still going on. I didn't listen to the Hoyer interview, but at the season ticket forum, Theo mentioned it was Castro that came to them and asked for Buss to come live with him(next door I believe), so it wasn't like this was forced upon him. And if Hoyer said they didn't have their hands tied on the budget, he's either lying, or they didn't want to win the last 2 seasons. But considering he said they have money for the majors roster now, then yes Jed, your hands were tied on the budget.

This was almost certainly Sean May There's some internet speculation that it's Hansbrough. Wordin it "early in her 10-year tenure" makes me think they'd have been gone shortly after she started. Hansbrough was at UNC until 2009. Add in that his father's a doctor, and his brother transferred into ND, I think it's laugh at the stupid white hillbilly in effect.
