Oh yeah, I have an irrational hatred for Pete Carroll. [expletive] is a truther. I hope someone asks him what he thinks about 9/11 on media day so he's exposed to the whole country for the raging douchebag he is. You realize that the % of people that believe that 9/11 was a shadyass event is actually extremely high. I cant remember what newspaper did a poll on it, but it was something like 40%. They don't suck but if we have to keep payroll down until the second the tv contract starts it's possible they (wisely) choose tanaka over samardZija. We're not competing this year so if they swap shark for somebody who can be in the rotation in 15 they may view it as a wash

It's been pointed out elsewhere, but our front office isn't stupid. If they know payroll is going to hover around the pitiful level it was at last year, they aren't going to tie up 1/5 of the budget in one pitcher.

I still don't buy this. Sure, there were people that didn't want to spend money on Pujols or Fielder or Darvish or Sanchez or Upton etc... But I think those were just individual evaluations on those players. I don't think there's ever really been a faction of this board that is dead set against spending on any big free agents. Yeah, people weren't dead set against spending money on any big free agents, they were just dead set on spending the money it took to actually acquire big free agents.
