  1. Please don't. I'm approaching my character limit in my sig. I noticed that you don't have a "Perez will not start" on your sig. Cause I only post things I know, and one can never underestimate the power of Neifury~!
  2. The D-Backs improved by 26 games last year. They were not similar. This isn't really true, other than the first few starts of the year, and the first few starts of the 2nd half, days off tend to jumble up rotation slots, and each pitcher matches up with different spots.
  3. Have only been to 5. Wrigley(Day Game) PNC Wrigley(Night Game) Busch The Cell Miller
  4. If Michigan or NU could go ahead and beat OSU that'd be just great. Thanks.

  6. I wonder how many people check the Rivalries forums.... :?
  7. Who cares? Place is a dump anyways.
  8. He only had 143 AB+BB+HBP last year with a runner on first though. I don't know if there are any, but SF should be included as well. Sacrifices are tricky to deal with as well, as it's unlikely that you'll hit into a DP on those, so it probably shouldn't count, but it's possible Neifi hit into at least one DP while sacrificing last year.
  9. Yes, they do and yes they are. I am a bit worried, but what will likely happen is Michigan losing to Illinois and at OSU, beat Indiana at home and beat a team like Purdue in the first round of the Big 10 tourney. That would put them at 19-10 (9-9) including the tourney, and I just don't see a way with all the hype the Big 10 has gotten this year, that they send less then 6 teams into the dance unless Michigan completely collapses and loses out (leaving them 17-11 (7-10)) That leaves in no particular order: 1. Illinois 2. Michigan State 3. Ohio State 4. Wisconsin 5. Iowa 6. Michigan The problem is of course 3 of Michigan's starting 5 being out with injuries (Abram, Harris and Hunter). Hunter will be out 3-6 weeks (a huuuuge blow), Harris should be playing tonight and Abram - who the hell knows. I waffle back and forth pretty much every other day on whether I think the Big 10 is gonna clean up in the tourney or have a losing record in the tourney. The Michigan loss probably sunk them, but if Minnesota can steal one of their games at Wisconsin or at home against UI(they could really use the road win-only 2 on the season), anyone else think they belong? They'd obviously need the first round win, (probably against the 10 seed) but that'd put them at 17-12(7-9) in the best conference in the country in a real down year for bubble teams. That should put their RPI in the 40s-50s I would guess, along with a 7-3 record in the last 10, all losses to tournament teams along with 3 wins over tourney teams. I don't think it's likely they'd beat Wisconsin or UI(though I do fear this game), but it's certainly possible and it seems Minnesota isn't getting any attention despite having a similar profile to IU(who's sliding the other way.) If Michigan finished around 18-10 (7-9) and Minnesota 17-12 (7-9), I think the Big 10's 6th spot would be up to those two, and with Michigan beating Minnesota twice by 15+ points, Michigan would get the nod. The only thing that would put that in doubt would be the fact that Minnesota would be lik 8-2 in their last 10, with Michigan like 3-7 Shoulda clarified, I meant Minnesota as the 7th team, I counted Michigan as already in. And Illinois is frustrating with the 5 minutes per game that they sit around and wait for Dee to do something.

  11. Probably his 627/854/2400 line against the Cubs.
  12. Well, you can always move Ramirez to 1B (mostly kidding). You could trade for the Reds-Player-That-Shall-Not-Be-Named and stick him at 1B. Dopirak might explode. Sing could be serviceable for half a year. There are usually other 1B available via trade... ...it's not a knock against Derrek Lee, it's more like being realistic as far as how much you pay him. He's got to prove that 2005 wasn't a blip, a fluke, before he's worth Konerko-type money. Lee has always been better than Konerko and will be better in the future. I'm not saying the Cubs should go hog wild however they are a team that can overpay a little, considering the Yanks and BSox might be looking for a 1B in 07 this looks like a situation where it might be justified. If the Cubs can agree with 5\70 type deal I'd pull the trigger. Konerko's deal was 5/60, not 70. 5/60 for Lee would be acceptable even with regression. I'd prefer it only be 4 years, but it's far from an albatross, nor would it likely become one.
  13. JACK MORRIS FOR PRESIDENT OF EARTH!!
  14. "We hope he can still play the way we know 'Grip' can play," Cubs manager Dusty Baker said. "We know he can hit left-handers well, he always has. His knowledge of the game is vast. He's been on winners, he works hard." "One of the hardest things in this game is a fallen star," Baker said. "When a guy accepts the position that he's in in his career, it makes it easier on a manager and coaches and very beneficial to the guys on the team."
  15. 4/45 sounds low. 4/51 or so sounds about right.
  16. Grissom's body couldn't handle playing 150 games, that would pretty much mean that every single righty anywhere is a tough righty.
  17. Didn't Will Carroll "break" the news that Pete Rose was going to be reinstated about a year ago? Will Carroll says lots of things.
  18. Zambrano has a career ERA+ of 132, Buehrle, 128.
  19. I need more than Will Carroll to start worrying.
  20. No charge, but he's lucky there wasn't a T called for hanging on. Agreed, I love Randle but he comes close to a T about once a game for one his dunks.
  21. Did she call it a charge? Did you actually see the play happen? It was not a charge.
  22. And before anybody comes on with some unfounded statement about Zambrano being emotionally unstable and can't keep his cool, Buehrle has allowed more unearned runs than Zambrano has in their 3 full seasons.
  23. Guess I should change the sig. A throw away comment from Kiley with no quote or reference to it being said by anybody actually representing the Cubs is some sort of news?
  24. I love Randle. Alot. I was impressed with U of I today considering that Brown and McBride were pretty much non-factors on offense and the game was still never really in doubt. Especially playing against a big man like Killingsworth. I think Minnesota has a better chance of making the tourney than Indiana now, but then again I've been on their bandwagon for awhile. EDIT: Upon looking at their records, I guess I'm really not going out on a limb here am I.
  25. PNC is incredible. Reasons for optimism, Jim Tracy and a pretty decent pitching staff.
