    They acquired Adam LaRoche, that's pretty good. For their closer and a decent prospect. They've spent no money on the team since they re-signed Kevin Young.

    I pretty much agree with everything, but I don't like the fact that the Royals don't seem to want to get better. It seems like the Pirates and Brewers at least try. The Royals just seem to be in it solely to make money. I hate the Florida teams because of their fans. Now, retract or relocate... if they could find a good market (like OK City), then I'm all for relocating, but I don't know if they can. The Pirate owners are definitely only in it to make money. The Royals at least put up a front to pretend like they were trying this offseason. The Pirates didn't even do that.

    It's perfect. If Sosa comes back this year and hits well, he took last year off to roid himself back up in the Dominican(or something?) If he tanks, then roid boy can't hit anymore cause he lost his precious steroids.

    I think it annoys Sosa haters whenever I defend him as much as when they act like ignorant morons about him. SO YEAHHHHH SAMMMMMMMYYYYYY WHOOOOOOOOOOOO I LOVE SAMMY SOSA!!!

    After a lifetime of hearing Sosa only hits meaningless HRs, when I see a post like that, that's what I assume. I don't understand the context of it any other way.

    Did Sammy throw you into one? So was Ernie Banks. In fact, the Cubs were much worse during his career than they were during Sosa's. The Cubs were a bad team during Sosa's career with them. The Cubs have been a bad team during everyone's career with them since WWII. To create some sort of connection of Sosa's time with the team being the reason the Cubs lost is akin to blaming Hendry for letting Paul Bako go when all he did was average 88.5 wins in his time on the north side.

    Ohhhh yeah Evergreen Park represent!! I played ball with Adduci when I was younger, he was hyped cause of his dad, but was never really that impressive. I can't for the life of me figure out why he wouldn't go play in college rather than sign on as an organizational player from the 42nd round.

    We are in last place. Shhhh :-& Ahhh...He meant Pitt. Oh. Haha :oops: When someone says "We're" I assume he means the Cubs. Didn't know we had Pitt fans on this site. There are Pitt fans, Card fans, we've had Astro fans, Boston fans (though that guy hasn't posted in a while), and I think we have a certain section Adam Dunn fans that may qualify as dual Cub/Reds fans....heh. I think the Red Sox fan was a woman. I don't know what happened to the other Astros fans(I think there were like 3 or 4), but I'd be shocked to see Jimy is a misspell around here ever again.

    Rather than throw off the alignment of the page. (A LOT OF EYE ROLL SMILEYS.) Stats behind it: Rangers fall to 2-3 in games Sosa homers in. Orioles in '05: 7-4 in games Sosa homered in. (O's were also a TERRIBLE team) Cubs in '04: 20-12 with Sosa homer Cubs in '03: 24-10 Cubs in '02: (even worse than the '05 O's) 23-21 Should I keep going or should I wait for the anecdotal evidence of "all those times Sammy hit those meaningless HRs in the 9th and kissed the camera and walked out early on the team and corked his bat and did steroids" Cause if that's all that's coming, I'd rather not sit and count the games in which he hits is 64 HRs in '01 just to show they had a great record in those games.

    Defensive replacements aren't necessary in every single game. If you can afford it, it doesn't hurt, but doing things like removing Barrett in the 8th inning of every game is the definition of insanity.

    There should be laws against rooting for the Marlins, Padres, or Mets if you're a Cubs fan. Unless it's a lesser of 2 evils thing.
