You're also ignoring the #s Nomar put up for us. I can't think of a definition that makes that trade a loser for us unless Justin Jones stops getting hurt. -

How bout Craig Monroe as the first bat off the bench vs. a righty? Trachsel facing Mike Lamb with Scott Eyre ready in the pen seemed pretty obviously done just so Trachsel could get a win. I'm not gonna do that obnoxious "Fixed" thing anymore because its pretty insulting, but I was really tempted to just "fix" your post to just say: "Trachsel starting the game" I mean seriously. We've seen 3 starts out of him, three starts to prove that he has absolutely nothing left. We got sooooo lucky today. Well it was basically Trachsel or Hart for this game cause we were playing 6 games in 5 days. I'm still not sold on Hart as a prospect so I can give him some leeway, but I definitely would've had Gallagher or Hart up and throwing at the first sign of trouble. Instead Lou played with fire for 5 innings. Luckily, Trachsel got out of it alive. -
Attendance is up across the board in baseball. The Marlins numbers are horrible when compared to the rest of the league, and the braindead douchebag ownership they have there isn't about to help matters.

A 2nd New England or New York area team would work out just fine. Other than that and maybe Vegas, I really don't know. Portland might do ok, but without a great team, I can't see them drawing over 2M annually.

Cesar Izturis - 197 AB's That's true. I think leaving Soto to rot in the minors in favor of Hill & Bowen will still go down as a major mistake this season. How does having a great year at AAA and building his confidence equate to rotting? The book is still out on Soto. The way some people are talking about him, he is the next Johnny Bench. Hill was hitting .300+ in Iowa and we all saw how his numbers changed when he was called up. Hill's also 4 years older and was slugging about 200 points less. -
That's pretty much his last start. this is the cubs, they're incompetent... i won't believe that it's his last start until the season is over and he hasn't started another game See my thread in Baseball Discussions, it'll be therapeutic.

Fielding percentage is a very bad judge of defensive capabilities. It only grades a defender on the balls he gets to. It's especially bad for OFs, where errors are very rare, as they only tend to happen when a ball bounces out of his glove or he overthrows a base. Ward probably is a little worse defensively in RF. They're both quite bad out there though.
