Yovani Gallardo 8-4 3.99 ERA 111 ERA+ 82 Ks, 31 BB, 7 HR 0 R allowed last 2 starts. vs. Matt Albers 4-8 5.79 ERA 77 ERA+, 59 Ks, 44 BBs, 17 HRs Suck it Cardinals, no thread for you.
It's the same story as Marmol. Who's pitching those 7th and 8th innings if Capps isn't in the beginning of the year. Blowing a game in the 9th is the same as blowing a game in the 7th. If you want to blame Tracy for costing them games, blame him for running the utterly horrible Chris Duffy out there the entire first half of the year.
There's no sense in keeping Blanco on the 60 day DL all year, it'll waste an offseason 40 man spot and potentially cost us somebody in the Rule 5 draft. If he's just going to be hidden on the 60 Day DL all season just cut him like we did to Rusch.
I don't think the money/oppurtunity is going to be there for Kendall in Chicago. I'm just spitballing, so I can't think of a likely destination, but I think Kendall's going to want to be somewhere where he'll start 130-140 games a year, and he'll be looking for 5M+ in return. I don't think the Cubs offer either of those things. I think some team will. Baltimore and Washington look like possibilities. Houston seems like a lock if Ausmus retires.
With the remaining opponents all out of the playoff race, it's unlikely they'd mess with their 5 man rotations unless it was to get a couple starts for a prospect while shutting down someone with a history of injuries.
I think Soto will get more than "a look" in ST. I think he's gonna go in as the starter. This past week or so has cemented that Kendall won't be brought back.
But if he's traded in the middle of his contract doesn't he have the right to declare for free agency? I'm pretty sure they took that out of the new CBA. Did they really? Well that would help things. IMO, the O's would want Hill, Pie and Marmol. I'm not sure I'd trade any of them straight up for Tejada.
On ERA alone, he's had a good season for a 3rd starter, he's had an incredible season for a 5th starter, even looking at just peripherals. Oh, and Carlos Zambrano now has the worst ERA of our 5 starters. And Eyre's ERA+ is over 100!
Mizzou barely beat a team that all of their fans around here thought they would kill, while said team's starting QB was injured. Is Illinois ranked with that win? I don't think so. Either Mizzou's worse than people think or U of I is better, but instead you still have snide comments about U of I being terrible, and Big XII North championships for Missouri.
1 bad inning huh? You got rocked the entire game Mark, just like every start this season Tony Larussa on his team Isnt that precious lol When's Albert gonna tell us that Marquis wasn't any good today.
3/21 was an overpay, just becasue I can't see him getting offers that were close to that this offseason. However, his results have definitely been worth more than 7M a season. And I think Larry deserves a ton of credit for this.
