  1. As The Rocket and Ted Lilly have shown, the NL central aint the NL east. You don't think he'd take advantage of getting 16-20 starts against the Pittsburghs and Houstons of the world? Plus he's a Proven Big Game Pitcher(trademark) and wouldn't give up first pitch homers to Chris Young. Which will cost an extra 4M a season. Can we stop fixing holes that aren't there? And starting more than half his starts against 2 teams would have to be some sort of record. Wish somebody sent the memo to Trachsel that the NL Central is worth a free point in ERA from the AL East.
  2. Isn't Will Carroll pretty bad when it comes to rumors?
  3. Even for OF/1B, I think you have to(and I will to some extent) factor in their defense. Obviously it's not enough to torpedo a guy, but it has to come into play.
  4. There's nobody from Notre Dame or Dunedin, FL in that mock. We'll probably just forfeit our 1st pick.
  5. What do you suggest we give up for Crawford?
  6. And count me as someone that has no clue what Olberman's talking about. You don't have to look far to find a contract more than 1/2 of 262M He's sitting in LF.
  7. Because it is about the money. But so what? that's what they play for. ARod/Boras are floating a 262 million dollar number around. That is EXACTLY twice as much as the higest paid athlete in sports. According to Keith Olberman. I disagree that it's about the money. It wasn't about the money when he begged out of Texas offering to give up money in the process. He's just sick of being blamed for everything that goes wrong with the Yankees. He'd never be appreciated in New York like he would in most other places, why voluntarily stay in that situation?
  8. He might have, but I don't think it would complicate things anymore than attempting to trade him prior to him opting out of his contract. I agree, the whole point is that the Yanks would be trading him to a team he would sign an extention with. Plus, from everything I've heard, I don't know if hes "officially" opted out. If he has, then I guess its a moot point. I don't know how complicated it really would have been. If I'm Stoneman and Cashman calls me and says, "hey, ARod's gonna opt out and hes considering signing with you guys. If you want to save $20M (the texas $), we'll trade him to you for Brandon Wood (or whomever of some value) and give you guys a 72 hour window for an extention" Seems pretty simple to me. Its a win win because the yanks get something for nothing, the Angels give up something, but save $20, some of which is going to go as "extra $" to ARod, and some to their coffers. It doesn't even have to be as valuable as Brandon Wood (although after another crappy year, his value is questionable). The Yanks obviously aren't in the drivers seat and should pretty much be interested in taking any B prospect. Why would ARod agree to an extension with the Angels without knowing what's out there on the free market? Because the angels can kick him back some of the 20M that is being saved with the Texas money. And they can compete with nobody in their signing of him.

  10. I watched the Pitt/Navy game about a month ago. Navy almost won. I dont think that ND is much better than Pitt. ND beat UCLA, I don't think Navy is better than UCLA. This also means nothing.
  11. Again people don't seem to realize how good Bedard is, possibly including Andy MacPhail. The Orioles ran Steve Trachsel and Victor Zambrano out there this year as starters. But yeah, they're set on starters. I went to baseballreference to double check their pitching(It is terrible, especially when Guthrie regresses) But they are right, their position players are terrible too. Terrible and old. They're gonna be hurting for a long time.
  12. I'm sorry Andy but you shouldn't have beaten Illinois. You can't just take the problems Ball St. had, say they should've been done the other way and automatically say it should've been a win. Illinois had a lot more shouldas than BSU. I don't think you beat IU either, though I haven't seen them play in a few weeks, it's possible they've regressed.
  13. Yeah, so UM's losing to Minnesota.
  14. Stellar Defense here in GA/FL. And another unsportsman like conduct. Georgia's gonna be kicking off from the 15 all game.
  15. That was awesome/crazy.
  16. I do too. I don't what it is, but I really think we can win this one. I guess it's a matter of Anthony Morelli forgetting that he's Anthony Morelli for a few hours. I dont have a lot of confidence in Morelli picking apart the zone defense and disguised blitz's OSU brings. Boeckman looked good in the 1st half against state last week, i missed the 2nd half and that pick 6 he threw. OSU doesnt lose TO battles, maybe tonight they will cough it up more. PSU needs that. I hope you guys' boys get it done tonight. I dont have a lot of confidence that my guys will pick up the B10s mess on Nov 17. A Michigan fan? Jesus. Couldn't you guys just lay down after the beginning of this season? You had to lose your first 2 games embarrassingly and then sweep through the Big Ten making the rest of us look terrible. Go Bucks Then to top things off, they'll get killed by OSU making it look like a one team conference.
  17. You will be. Then probably lose in the tourney.
  18. I'll root against any team that currently or once employed Dennis Erickson. Human filth.
  19. Perfect!! EDIT: Shoot, Samardzija has a NTC!! So do Sori and DLee. Yeah, it was a joke.
  20. What, you mean it might have had something to do that they only had three players that deserved a spot on a major league roster? He definately had some craptastic players. 1996 Cubs that pitching staff was atrocious. jesus. What I remember from that season is Trachsel being the lone Cubs all star rep, and Peggy Kuzinski saying to his face on CLTV that he was obviously only chosen because every team needed a representative. I wanted Trachsel and his 2.14 ERA to slap her across the face on live TV. Pure ignorance. I still hate her to this day.
  21. Perfect!! EDIT: Shoot, Samardzija has a NTC!!
  22. Coaches that get polled are usually idiots, but I'm feeling more optimistic seeing those rankings.
