Hey guys, Illinois won yesterday. I was in KAMs for the game(break out the pitchforks) It was like New Year's Eve as the game ended. Champagne bottles being sprayed everywhere. Shots straight from the bottle. Crowd surfing, ripping down ceiling tiles. It was awesome. Time to check back on my predictions from last week, see how bad I was.

Back to Champaign for the weekend. Campus should be jacked up for the game. Wonder if it's weird that I'm 2 years out of school and have visited 5 times this semester(with probably 1 more to come before the year's out)

It's Tejada. He's gonna get traded for way less than he's worth. The Orioles are idiots. I'd have to see it to believe it with Tejada. Angelos has blocked Tejada trades so many times that I can't believe he would ok a Tejada trade now for less than he's worth. My hope is that with MacPhail there now that Angelos will pull back on the meddling. Just a hope really. This Matsui talk is killing me.

I think I'd rather have TT than Deng, to be honest. At the rate TT is improving, yeah, I'd have to agree with that. He looks on his way to becoming a legitimate 16/10 guy in only year 2. Of course, LaMarcus already is.

I'd be stunned if Illinois doesn't make the tournament. Indiana only plays at Michigan and Purdue at home. IU and Purdue should play twice every year. I'm also disappointed in the lone game, as IU would stand an excellent shot of taking both from the Boilers. Same thing with Illinois/NU. I don't understand why they have protected games for football but not for the new basketball schedule. Oh and Rose > Mayo

Getting the worst 2 teams once apiece will certainly hurt in the Big 10 standings, but it should help in the RPI. Raw is right, take care of business at home, win the games against the dregs on the road and you've got 12 conference wins. 12-6 in conference even in a down Big 10 gets you dancing.

I've progressed to ambivalence. I started liking him at his lowest point of last season when he handled the situation like a true professional. I have a ton of respect for Jacque. The fact that he was actually good in the 2nd half was icing on the cake.

I really hope the Cards can't find a taker for Rolen. I like Rolen, and it sucks that he'd be stuck in a miserable situation, but he's definitely not worth the money he's being paid, and I'd like the Cards to be the one that suffers because of it.

Come on now. I'm no Hendry supporter, but there's no way Hendry trades for Pierre. How did Coletti learn his lesson on Pierre because he wants to sign another CF(moving Pierre to LF is rumored), but Hendry didn't learn his lesson by not offering the insane contract that one Ned Coletti offered him? I don't remember much in terms of rumors around Hendry/Pierre last offseason, I seem to remember 3/18 speculated, but I don't know if that was ever even close to confirmed as rumor. Pierre will never again be a Cub.

Isn't that what they are supposed to do against a DII team? I don't know how you can take anythign from a game against a DII team. I mean they are a DII team. Yea I was hoping you knew I was joking and not trying to be an ass. You are right, U of I will live and die with D, and they really need Pruit to be the talented big man that he is, and dominate. IF Brian Randle can tap into his potential on offense and stay healthy(big if I know) the Illini wont be too bad, and could give alot of teams fits. I dont look for anything spectacular from this season, but I dont think it will be a terrible season either. I expect a fifth place* Big Ten finish and an NCAA tourney berth for the Illini. They'll be a tough out, too, because of good coaching, size and defense. *Even with the move to 18 game conference schedules, schedule balance could move them up a spot or so (I doubt they're worse than fifth). I haven't looked at their schedule, so I don't really know. Maybe I should say I expect them to be the fifth best team in the Big Ten. Illinois gets a rough schedule with Iowa and Northwestern as the teams they play only once.

This is why it's a bad trade for Houston. It moves Pence to RF and moves Luke Scott to the bench/undervalued trade bait for no reason.

One of those schools that sounds like it's Ivy and is in the Ivy league area, but it's not Ivy. I thought about going there for awhile.

Andy graduating college feels weird. Also, I'd lay a lot of money down on the under for Ball State getting 10 wins next year.
