    So you realize this makes no sense right? These NERDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! metrics are baseball statistics. But, no they weren't on the back of your baseball cards as a kid so they're made by people who've never played the game and just like doing quadratic equations on their Friday nights.

    It was already touched on earlier, albeit briefly, but if KU and OSU go undefeated they'll have to beat the 2nd and 3rd place teams in their respective conferences to do it. (Illinois, Michigan) (Mizzou, Oklahoma) If they run the table, I think they'll both deserve it. That said, I think both lose one and it winds up OU vs. OU after LSU chokes it in the SEC title game to a not great SEC East team. The SEC gauntlet complaining will be heard for miles.

    When's the last time an SEC team was playing on a neutral field for a bowl game?

    I have never heard Mike Lowell called the spirit of the Marlins team. It was always Pierre, Beckett, and to a lesser extent Castillo. That whole team leader Pierre thing didn't work out too well for us. Why didn't those same team leaders win the series for Boston in '05 and '06. Who was the leader for the White Sox in '05? Can we acquire him too?

    Probably wouldn't be too professional for a GM to say, "man what a terrible mistake on my part. That guy sucked out loud."

    And I assume this is per/162 or per/150, or whichever full season # is applied? Otherwise some of these guys are even better/worse than their #s.(Gutierrez, Owens, Braun)

    You really didn't understand what he was saiyng though IMB. He was saying good thing PSU plays MSU at the end of the year because they always suck by then and it'll be an easy win. He was saying they play their best game of the year against UM every year.

    Peralta's not a better defender than Tejada. He's pretty bad out there. Though I'm still a pretty big fan of his.

    Loria is history's greatest monster. I'd be really angry if he got A-Rod. He doesn't deserve anything but the hot poker up his ass that satan has waiting for him.

    I did. I wanted Aldridge in the worst way possible. Yeah, I was just being a jerk because I rabidly endorsed Aldridge while being mildly anti-Thomas from the time the tourney ended through the draft. I'm sure some people from the Draft thread can vouch for my madness. Mark_R was a huge Aldridge guy too, right? I believe he was. The consensus seemed to favor Thomas or Roy.

    Wasn't Aldridge pretty injury prone in college? Texas really dominated OU while he was there, so I pretty much blacked out most of what happened in those years. Only played 2 years. Missed half his freshman year with a hip injury.

    If only somebody could've seen Aldridge as a better pick than Thomas before the draft...

    As I said, it's subject to persuasion. I've had a hard time finding negro league stats online(other than what the BR bullpen has to offer), and really don't have the first clue how to translate them. I'm not too willing to give him any extra credit for extra years at the end considering the decline he seemed to be in. I could see an extra few years worth added on to the beginning of his career moving him up a few spots, but I'm pretty skeptical about his viability in the majors in his teens.

    Does that make him any less worthless. Lenny Harris ended up owning us too. Lenny Harris didn't do crap against us. He only owned us in the sense that we had a manager who was more afraid to face him than Mike Lowell. Having a manger with dog feces for brains owned us, not Lenny Harris.

    We would also need a daily thread on how great Curt Shilling is. Curt could start it.

    I need to hear the arguments for Campanella. Is it defensive related? Is there additional credit for starting late due to his race? The career's just too short for me to have him higher.

    It sounds weird to say, but I think Hinrich is underrated because he's white. Which is pretty much 99% of the time the other way around.
