Righty half of a platoon with Pie? He sucked against lefties in '06, and minorleaguesplits.com gives me little help, but I'd have to assume like most righties he's better against lefties, and his minor league #s would make you think he could put up decent enough #s against them in the majors. The defensive drop off if any from Pie should be minimal.

If Geo doesn't hit more than 10 HRs, I'm gonna be disappointed.

But who cares? Looking at stuff like that leads to getting worthless sacks like Juan Pierre. Besides guys like Bonds, Helton, and Pujols, the people who are close to a 1:1 ratio are all punchless hitters who don't strike out cause they're too busy grounding out weakly to the 2nd baseman.

I thought I'd give a grace period afterwards, but was anyone else surprised at IU's decision to start fouling with 1:30 left while down only ~6. I understand UConn's not a great FT shooting team, but they kept sending the best shooter on the team to the line. 1:30 is way too early to start messing around with that IMO. The other head scratcher was Sampson using the last timeout with ~1:20 left when they were just gonna foul Connecticut on the next play anyway.

You're just jealous of him I know I am. why? i'd be jealous of him if he had a picture of the top of her head, if you know what i mean...wink wink. Anybody remember when Erin Andrews used to do ESPNews, like right when it started and she was not attractive at all? And then somebody from ESPN stepped up and decided to fix her up; got rid of her glasses and turned her from super dork into what she is now. I either don't remember this at all, or wiped it from my memory so only good memories of Erin remain. Although, dorks are hot...

Don't be ridiculous. Purdue isn't the best team in the Big 10. They're about 5th.

It's weird, it seems like the PAC 10 and Big East are the only conferences worth a damn.

That's why they were lackluster. I don't think either of those things are happening. Since Wisky has only lost two home games under Bo Ryan in conference play, and they both were to us, I don't see it happening either. Not sure who to root for. I generally root for Indiana, but for seeding purposes, I'd like to see all the Big 10 powers (IU, MSU, UW) lose one more time just in case KU stumbles. I like Wisconsin a lot and the Big 10 is terrible this year, but they're not gonna run the table. They've got 7 Big 10 road games left. If I had to guess, I'd say they lose 2 of em.

I think Villanova is a for sure also. Pomeroy hates Villanova. It's not just the Rutgers loss, all 4 of their losses are to non-tourney teams(Cincy, DePaul, and NC St. being the others) Looking it over the only difference between them and Cincy is that Villanova had an easy non-conference where they could pile up wins.

Ehhh, I think Purdue is better than Minnesota, but at Minnesota is likely a tougher road game than at Purdue. I think Pomeroy has you guys nailed pretty well at 26-5 to end the regular season. I'm trying to bet the guy next to me that IU loses 3 out of 4 at UI, OSU, MSU, Wisky. Big 10 roadies are ridiculous.

There's no arguably about it. At Minnesota is the only Big 10 game IU should have been challeneged in.

As far as Pudge goes, looking at it in its most simple form for '04 Maddux + Barrett was likely more valuable than Pudge + Cruz(as a starter)/Mitre would have been.

When you say knuckleballness is that simply whether a guy throws a knuckleball or not? Or is it how similar a guy is to a knuckleballer, i.e. late/significant movement on pitches?
