    It's about the same. Although, I am really down on the Giants. I think the difference between the Giants/Nats and any other team in the league is bigger than the difference between the Cubs and any other team in the league. Which makes going 3-4 against them all the most frustrating to this point. Oh I agree that the Giants are a horrendous team. I just think the Cubs and Brewers are the class of the league, and have a hard time seeing either miss the playoffs.

    You think the difference between the Reds/Pirates/Astros and the loser of Cubs/Brewers is closer than the difference between the Giants and the D-Backs?

    Bukie it seems you're not taking divisions into account. There's no way the Reds, Astros, or Pirates have a better chance at the playoffs than the Giants because those teams would have to beat out one of the Brewers or Cubs while the Giants only have to beat out mediocrities. The Giants are most likely a worse team than those 3, but their competition sucks. Same with the D-Backs and Dodgers having less chance than (in the very least) the Braves, and likely the Cards and Mets. Neither Arizona or LA look like good teams, but their competition is even worse. It'd probably take a Philadelphia and New York collapse to put the Braves in the playoffs. I'd say Cubs Phillies Brewers D-Backs Dodgers Mets Cardinals Braves Padres Marlins Rockies Giants Reds Pirates Astros Nationals

    AFAIK, Weeks has been healthy all year, and he's been abysmal. He sucks in the field too.

    You expect Hendry to understand park factors? Or at least to weigh them more heavily than called me to explain why he didn't sign with me/former cy young 10 years ago factors?

    I do believe that this TLR team will overachieve. But I had them as a ~77 win team.

    Cubs don't match up poorly with a Burnett deal. Though that could end up as a disaster in its own way I guess. I've been banging this drum to anyone who'd listen, but unless Burnett gets hurt, whoever trades for him is going to be very pleased with the results. He can be had for peanuts, and he has a gorgeous FIP

I don't want to hear people saying we'll win 4 games all September because we're going on the road. I didn't see where anyone has said that in this thread. :scratch: Finishing with 16 of 22 on the road is less than ideal, that is all. I don't think anyone should have an issue with the Cubs building as big of a lead as possible before that stretch begins. I know, it's just to go-to lament when the sky starts falling.

    Hee Seop Choi and Justin Jones were both really good prospects when dealt. Pinto and Nolasco were pretty good. Hill and Harris weren't fringe.

    He'd be an upgrade in the back end of our rotation and he's a free agent after this season. He wouldn't provide a 1-2 punch with Zambrano in the playoffs, I'll grant that, but he would definitely win the Cubs a few games that they might not win if Marquis/Gallagher/Marshall is pitching instead. He helps the bullpen because he does provide 6 IP consistently. This would be welcomed as the season goes on. He's averaging roughly 5 2/3 this year. Last year as well. Marshall and Gallagher in their careers are averaging right around 5 1/3.

With regards to transportation you're about a 5 block walk from the red line train that will drop you off right outside the park.(Either Grand or Chicago) If you could clarify what type of bars, etc. you'd be looking for we could probably give you some more detailed advice.

    I wouldnt be shocked in the slightest if the Brewers still end up going for Maddux. His brother is the pitching coach, and they certainly wouldnt have to give up any Gamels or Escobars. Maddux in front of that defense would be hilarious.

    Riggleman didn't even run out of pitchers. He had Arthur Rhodes and Brandon Morrow left(though he had pitched 4 out of the last 5 days.)
