    Haven't there been enough guys flailing at the plate? He has a 104 OPS+, Fukudome's is 107. But this isn't the time for that conversation, I was just having some fun. I'd have gladly enjoyed a pinch hitter for Kosuke there.

    To clarify Raisin's post: If a player is rostered they then begin their major league service, and are not eligible to be a free agent until they serve their 6 years in the majors. Hoffpauir cannot be a free agent next year, and if they'd like to keep any of those guys they can roster them. (Maybe Kroeger or Wells) Veal's the only guy certain to be rostered on that list.

    I wouldn't be shocked if they tried to get him to be the 2nd lefty out of the pen for this season. Nothing would shock me, but Piniella keeps going on and on about their need for a 2nd lefty in the rotation. Apparently Marshall is not that guy. If both Rich and Sean were to remain on the 25-man roster, I'd have to believe it would be Hill in the rotation and Marshall in the bullpen. Me too. I think Lou likes Marshall in the pen and would have issues with bringing in Hill from the bullpen. I think Lou has issues with Hill period. I think he'd rather only have to use him for a couple guys a game rather than 6 innings in a start.

    Yeah it's really weird how eager people are to push Edmonds out of the starting lineup. I was as big a doubter as anyone when he first came here, but I think it might be time to accept that Edmonds isn't the washed up piece of crap he was the first couple months of the year.

    what I'm saying is, maybe it's in reference to the players chosen on the players ballot, not the fan ballot It obviously is(being referred to), since fans don't vote on pitchers, but the players vote by position as well. and Soriano was voted in by the fans, therefore this wouldn't come into play The host was probably an idiot(he's a sports radio host), but the way this is phrased says nothing about how the player got there, just if one needs to be replaced they go to the next highest.

    According to weis, the next highest vote getter at that position takes over. If that were the case the next highest vote getter at OF would've taken over, not a 3B.
