  1. there are varying degrees of light hitting backup catchers. Bako is the worst of the worst. Blanco actually provided something with the bat. BALANCE
  2. And Mike Fontenot won't be on the bench.
  3. Draft pick compensation has failed in its stated reason. Small market teams can't afford the players, and therefore can't afford to offer arbitration and risk being stuck with a bloated contract for a player they don't want. The rich teams can afford to take the guy on a 1 year deal, offer, and collect picks. It's the big market teams stockpiling picks through compensation, not the Pirates of the world. Draft pick compensation is a rousing success in its actual reason. That being keeping free agents' salaries down because teams don't want to forfeit a pick in addition to overpaying.
  4. Except that job way way way beneath him. What's he doing instead? Anyone know what his per 10 minute salary demands would be?
  5. When nobody else can hit a shot you grasp at straws and give the last guy a chance to spark something. Jordan can't create for himself and can't shoot 3s. And nobody on Illinois could hit the side of a barn last night so why not let Jordan try. Well, Christ, why not put in Bubba and let him shoot every shot? After all other guys weren't making shots, might as well let him try!! Why not just walk off the court? Nobody was hitting shots after all!! You're better off letting Legion and McCamey come down and chuck it every time than putting Jordan in to get any offense going.
  6. Awful. I could see trying him at #4 or even #5, but #6 is just pissing away AB's. Theriot/Miles are the prototype 1/2.
  7. It's a good thing a certain Bama fan friend of ours isn't an ND fan, because he'd have a very long response to this post. I hope we get this guy but he probably wouldn't be a RB at ND, since Charlie is averse to ever running the ball (but maybe with our crap OL coach replaced it'll be better). Nah man, my days are trying to convey my thoughts about my team in more then a few sentences, if that, are long gone. My answers were be short and to the point. The only thing about ND that I want to see happen is Urban "The Classless Liar" Meyer become the new head coach of that program. Don't you mean [expletive]?
  8. 3 loss teams or better: MSU has roadies at Purdue and Illinois Purdue has roadies at Illinois, MSU, Illinois has a roadie at PSU Minnesota has roadies at MSU, PSU, and Illinois PSU has roadies at Illinois, Purdue, and MSU It's already a 3 team race.

  10. ah...the voice of reason Gotta make room for the return of Les Walrond. there is one spot open now a backup middle infielder is coming soon does the 40 man have to be full at the start of the season, or can it still have a spot open? 40 man can have as many spots open as you want.
  11. Fukudome is still in the lineup (against RHP, so for the majority of the games) so Bradley isn't replacing him. He's basically replacing Edmonds. Fontenot is replacing DeRosa. And our bullpen is probably worse than last year. Damn, no Eyre or Howry. Or Kerry Wood... So now Hendry is fitting DeRosa and Wood into his budget? Yeah, I'm sorry he should have kept them and not given Dempster and Bradley those crazy contracts. Then we could be complaining about Marquis being our fourth starter and Gaithright/Johnson platooning in CF and Fukudome every day in RF. Nobody's talking about budgets, they're talking about how the team is worse than last year. budgets are relevant though Not when people are arguing that the lineup and bullpen aren't any worse than last year. They're relevant when going about not making the team worse, but people were just arguing whether it is worse. Great, I've become Kyle.

  13. It's risk/reward. What's the benefit to trading away Hill? You get a low A reliever. Even if there's a 5% chance that Hill can contribute something this year, that's a better bet than the PTBNL turning into anything. i'd say it's much more likely that the PTBNL helps the cubs than rich hill ever would. as hendry said himself, rich had his shot and he blew it. he blew it pretty badly. Except for that entire season where he was really good Season and a half.

  15. So who's watching this dynamite Big East matchup??
  16. Did we break 30% shooting?

  18. Just break 40 you stupid bastards.
  19. Foul for guarding man with the ball.
  20. What the hell is Jordan doing in the game when we need offense and fast?
  21. *foul on Arch*
  22. More lazy [expletive] rebounding. We could've cut this to single digits by now.
  23. No, Shon, that was Minnesota's defense that caused Keller to miss the wide open layup.
  24. Can they please stop talking about Minnesota's defense not giving us any easy looks? We've had tons of good looks and just clanged them. Tisdale especially.
