  1. Stay out of the streets of Lexington if that day ever comes.
  2. You have got to be kidding. Not at all. 9 players on that squad played in the NBA. 6 1st rounders. Now dispute it. You take a team with players drafted at Nos. 6, 6, 13, 16, 19, 29 and 52; I'll take a team that had players drafted Nos. 1, 2, 3, 11, 14, and 18. Oh, did I mention that the No. 1 pick was someone named Lew Alcindor? I only needed to look up one team to dispute it. I must also wonder how 1996 Kentucky, being the most talented ever, lost two games and failed to win the SEC Tournament. That was kind of cruel not letting Raisin make this post.
  3. In my experiences, it's really difficult to overslide a bag in softball.
  4. It's damn near impossible to take 1st place with 80 wins in a 6 team division with unbalanced scheduling.
  5. Yeah but how many of those guys would've been drafted if Pitino wasn't GMing the Celts?
  6. is this is a competition of who made the most stupid plays? i think cedeno would blow the competition away if so. Ok, let's start. Ronny was born non-white. STRIKE 1 RONNY
  7. i love how people make that "thrown out at 2nd base on a walk" thing into some completely idiotic move. didn't he just overslide the bag or something? oversliding the bag isn't idiotic? It was a mistake. It happens more than people let on. I don't really see how it's "idiotic". I think it was a big deal becuase A) it was the tying run in the 9th inning (I think, maybe the tying run was the person who just walked), B) Cedeno had already started a reputation of being aloof, C) Some people may go past second on a walk, but very very few get thrown out, and D) This was during the start of the 06 Cubs collapse It was 07 '06, 2 outs, can't wait to find out this happened in a playoff game.
  8. i love how people make that "thrown out at 2nd base on a walk" thing into some completely idiotic move. didn't he just overslide the bag or something? oversliding the bag isn't idiotic? It was a mistake. It happens more than people let on. I don't really see how it's "idiotic". i think it's pretty stupid. if you think about it, he's got about a 7 foot span to stop himself and still be on the bag. just one of the many stupid thing he did during his time here. i'll always remember him firing balls into the first few rows behind the visitor's dugout. Hahahaha. I'll always remember the time Ryan Theriot unnecessarily dove for a ball and then from his back lobbed the ball into RF. BRAINDEAD MORON.
  9. i love how people make that "thrown out at 2nd base on a walk" thing into some completely idiotic move. didn't he just overslide the bag or something? Yep, so they're not even right. He was thrown out going from 2nd to 3rd. At least Ryan Theriot is a smart baserunner.
  10. I don't think Heilman is a fa after this season. Besides, we're just gonna roll over the Kerry Wood draft pick from this year into the 2010 draft. Plus we'll have DeRosa's draft pick next year. No need to load up on them.
  11. If Marmol pitches a bunch of 5 out saves, he'll break down by the all star break. Fritter fritter fritter.
  12. I don't see what this has to do with Tennessee's OL coach.
  13. You know that runs allowed doesn't tell the whole story with relievers I qualified that because I didn't want to get into the difference between pitchers' stuff and what makes them successful. What I wanted to get at was that we already have 3 moderately successful right handed relievers on the roster to go along with Gregg and Marmol. Heilman has no place on this team.
  14. Can anybody tell me the difference between what we could expect #s wise(I mean runs allowed, not peripherals) between Vizcaino, Gaudin, Heilman, and Wuertz? This is exactly what we needed a 6th-7th righty bullpen arm.
  15. He has definitely said in the past that he'd prefer not to move from leadoff. He has definitely said in the past that he'll hit wherever they tell him to. No word on whether he was saying that while muffing fly ball in front of the under armour sign. He said he'd hit anywhere they asked him to, but then he muffed some flyballs in front of the under armor sign, and he was probably wearing an under armor shirt when he did that, and the irony is too much for me, so he was probably lying when he said that. And he makes 138M dollars.
  16. To make payroll room for Bradley and give Fontenot a chance to start full-time. except they're apparently like $8 mil under budget right now. How the [expletive] are we gonna sign Randy Wolf genius?
  17. Kentucky standards are 3 Five stars per class? Kentucky standards were also built on rampant cheating(Pre-Pitino). It's asking a lot of any coach to consistently bring in top classes without bending/breaking the rules. You take the upswings when your area's HS teams are full of prospects and you try and build off of that. You get in early on some prospects you see big things from. You don't just walk into a gym say "I'm from Kentucky" and watch the recruits swoon. Indiana is learning that same thing right now.
  18. He has definitely said in the past that he'd prefer not to move from leadoff. He has definitely said in the past that he'll hit wherever they tell him to. No word on whether he was saying that while muffing fly ball in front of the under armour sign.
  19. Tony Delk's not walking through that door. Jamal Mashburn isn't walking through that door. Rodrick Rhodes isn't walking through that door. Smith couldn't recruit the ones replacing them. It ain't luck that the 3 consecutive years that UK went to the title game (96'-98') winning two of them were Pitino teams and that Smith didn't do anything with his classes for the decade he was here. You're lying to yourself if you don't think Pitino leaving UK when he did and then hiring Tubby completely stalled what they were doing. Never heard the Pitino Celtics sound clip? Trust me, I'm as unhappy with Pitino leaving Kentucky when he did as you are. Regarding Smith's classes, he wasn't bringing in a bunch of studs, but his classes get slammed more than he deserves. Rivals only goes back to '02, so I can only see that far back. '02 and '06 are good classes and '04 was a phenomenal classes. He wasn't Thad Matta, but he wasn't out there making the tourney with 3 stars.
  20. Tony Delk's not walking through that door. Jamal Mashburn isn't walking through that door. Rodrick Rhodes isn't walking through that door.
  21. Billy couldn't answer questions after the game cause he'd be slurring his words.
  22. Saying that Vitters put up those #s last year at the age of 19 implies that he'll be 20 when he hits spring training. It's misleading, especially when you consider that a standard is already set for what determines a player's "age" for a season.
