https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/03/straight-from-the-heart-the-signing-of-ted-lilly.html Really in-depth article about the Ted Lilly signing, the events leading up to it, and Hendry almost dying during the process. Really good stuff.
It's a fair complaint but the timing of it and the fact that he said it in public is weird. The guy was likable as hell, even when he struggled and now he's less likable to me because he complained on a radio show the day of the World Series championship celebration. Just an odd thing to do. Maybe he was drunk?
So do I of course, but I think the watching experience will be different for me. I literally thought I was going to throw up during game 7 when Chapman blew it.
I keep trying to think about off-season plans and Jay Cutler don't caaaaare forces itself into my mind and World Series highlights start playing Seriously, I'll be excited to watch these guys next year but the best part of winning it is not having to stress about the day-to-day. That's been my thought today. I'm sure I"ll still stress when the Cubs are in the playoffs next year but I won't have that burden of not having a Championship in 100+ years.
Just an incredible game. Emotional rollercoaster. I'm actually mad at myself that I thought it was over when Cleveland tied it at 6 because I shouldn't have doubted this team. Cubs teams in the past would have lost this game. But, they proved time after time to never doubt them.
i am so unbelievably nervous that there's some part of me that wishes i could not watch the game or something. like my body is physically wanting to reject watching the game. I'm the exact same way. But I'm asking myself why because we've already faced two elimination games, and I wasn't this stressed before.
