  1. Sad to say that Volstad is probably a better option.
  2. Yikes! Peavy with 125 pitches tonight! How long until he's the next Sox starting pitcher on the DL?
  3. Didn't see what happened. Did Reed make a nice play?
  4. Is it me or does it seem a little early to be taking LaHair out of the game, especially when he's due up 2nd in the top of the ninth?
  5. Hopefully, we saved some for tomorrow night.
  6. I suppose every player has their one insane hater. How is comparing his .551 OPS to a black hole in the lineup considered insane?
  7. Good to see the Black Hole, otherwise known as Geo Soto, is back in the lineup tonight.
  8. But, the thing is, Svuem brought in Russell to face the next batter, Kalish - a lefty, anyways. So why not have him ready earlier to face Saltalamacchia? So, Sveum was doing exactly what you said he shouldnt be worried about.
  9. I understand the bullpen is [expletive]. But, I feel like he doesn't put the team in the best chance to succeed sometimes, with regards to his handling of the bullpen. Case in point, last night Svuem leaves Camp in the game to face Saltalamacchia, who struggles against lefties in his career, instead of bringing in Russell, who wasnt even warmed up yet. And low and behold, Camp serves up the game winning hit. Sveum has done this numerous other times this year, whether that is leaving Russell in to face a lefty-killer or a righty in to face a righty-killer instead of not having the appropriate reliever warmed up and ready. Its like he cant think ahead with the bullpen. I dont know, these are just my observations. Edit - I was wrong about about Saltalamacchia having the game winning hit, but he did single off of Camp to put two runners on with no outs and Kalish drove in the go ahead run next off of Russell.
  10. Nor does he do a good job of managing the bullpen, IMO.
  11. Is it me or does it look like Ron Cey wears a toupee?
  12. Anyone else here think Chris Sale will blow his arm out at some point, given how the Sox are pitching him, violent delivery and thin frame?
  13. Nnice to see that great right handed duo of Baker "the lefty killer" and Koyie Hill go a ccombined 0-6 today. Both have been almost automatic outs lately and LaHair and Clevenger couldnt have done worse. So tired of the "right handed" lineup.
  14. And to add insult to injury, apparently Hawk applauded Wegner earlier in the series for not automatically calling the Sox player out on a potential force out at second since the Rays' ss didnt actually touch the bag while trying to turn a double play. So, according to Hawk, the umpire makes the right call when it benefits the Sox, but makes the wrong call when it goes against them.
  15. Would have been nice if Wegner also ejected Hawk from the booth
  16. Hawk might just be the worst broadcaster in the history of baseball
  17. too bad Moreland is on the call. Why does Pat take the inning off?
  18. He must be doing it for the White Sox fans
  19. 2 in a row! Can we petition to only play the Padres the rest of this year?
  20. I'd imagine so. Or keep Camp in the game?
  21. Cant watch the game today. Please explain.
  22. Some fat chef bragging about how he knows nothing about baseball and then being all obnoxious about his muffins and how he fries his steaks. All the more reason to stop with the celebrity/free-advertising guest conductors for the 7th inning stretch.
  23. Yeah, I just viewed his splits. Still, I think the best players should play regardless of what hand the pitcher throws with, outside of scheduled off-days every now and then. Especially when LaHair had his best game yesterday in the past 2 weeks and, it's not like Baker is really hitting anyone this year. Why, if the splits indicate that the batter is horrible against certain handed pitchers? B/c your other option is Jeff Baker, who isnt hitting anybody right now. I'll take my chances with the better player.
