    As for additional night games, I think they only really need to add Friday night games to be similar to the rest of the league. The first two games of a three game series are usually night games anyways. And, like most teams, getaway days, Saturdays (due to FOX) and Sundays are day games. And I agree with the general sentiment in this thread regarding the selfishness of Wrigleyville residents. If it weren't for the Cubs, their inflated property values wouldn't be so high. You really think the actual residents or "Wrigleyville" or Lakeview have any say about this? Get a [expletive] clue. The residents are the reason night games are limited and I'm sure the ones with money will have some say in this (through Tunney). And I used to live in the neighborhood, so yes, I do have a [expletive] clue, [expletive].

    He chose to leave. Some say he just wanted to go to AZ, others have said he wanted more money from the Cubs. Either way, this couldn't have worked out better. Deshaies is an upgrade. I'm sure most here don't like The Boers and Bernstein show on the Score, but while listening to them yesterday, Bernstein mentioned that his Cubs guy indicated the reason that Brenly isn't coming back is b/c the Cubs wanted to go in a different direction and bring in a guy that doesn't over-the-top criticize the Cubs players like Brenly did at times. Regardless, Deshaies seems like a great hire and I'm looking forward to watching next year!

    Not that I want to take the focus of this thread away from the Deshaies hiring, but I never understood why Brenley wasn't brought back. Anyone know why?

    I'll probably still end up watching the LCS, but if we get a Yankees-Cards World Series, I'm out. I won't be watching, especially with Card fan Joe Buck doing play by play. If it comes down to Yankees-Cards, I'll be the biggest Yankees fan.

    benches cleared Who started it? Not exactly sure as I didn't watch the game (who has?) and only saw highlights. But, from what I saw, Clevenger exchanged his glove during the middle of the Nationals' bottom half of the inning and their third base coach, Bo Porter walked over to the Cubs' dugout and had some choice words for Cubs bench coach Jamie Quirk and the benches cleared. Quirk got tossed but Porter was allowed to remain in the game. Not sure if it was the next inning or not, but the Cubs pitcher threw at Bryce Harper and the benches cleared again.

    I really didn't have a problem with Jackson trying to steal 3rd there in the 9th. With one out he scores on a sac fly or wild pitch , which Chapman is certainly capable of. Now, letting Clevenger bat there is another story.
