  1. ARod >>>>>>> Abreu. Why not fantasize about ARod?
  2. Record in 1-run games: 20-7. Best in MLB. So is it pretty safe to say that their luck will turn around, and they won't win the division? Because at work today I said this, and 3 other guys made me feel like idiots for saying that. They were convinced that the Nationals were this year's 2003 Marlins. But I was right the whole time!
  3. I reread your post and understood what you said and edited my post. I was confused for a second and didn't realize you were agreeing with me. I see. I love Dunn Detractors though. It's way more catchy than Dusty Busters.
  4. If you're convinced that batting average is a very important stat, moreso than OPS or OBP, then you probably won't think much of Dunn. Re-Read my post. I believe OPS and OBP were mentioned. BA was not. That was directed at Dunn detractors (well, one in particular), not you. I probably should have only quoted the 1st sentence.
  5. If you're convinced that batting average is a very important stat, moreso than OPS or OBP, then you probably won't think much of Dunn.
  6. offense (national league rank): 14th in ops, 15th in slg, 9th in obp, 14th in runs their pitching has been pretty good, but nothing stellar 5th in era, 10th in whip, 5th in opsa explain please.
  7. Walker actually did sign this year knowing what his role would be...full-time second-baseman. If he's not playing against lefties, then he isn't the full-time second-baseman. Everything Walker says is right.
  8. That is one god-awful statistic. But hey, a K is always the same as every other out eh? So would you think more of Dunn if his 19 hits the past 3 seasons with a runner on 3rd less than 2 outs were actually just routine flyballs to center-field? Would he be more valuable if instead of having 6 HRs in this situation, those homeruns stayed in the park instead of leaving? I know you're thinking Dunn must be a horrible player with a runner on 3rd less than 2 outs because of his lack of sacrifice flies, but once again, the stats show that Dunn is awesome. .268/.433/.620 and he has 57 RBI in 71 ABs. but yeah i agree since dunn drove in runs by slugging the ball instead of hitting flyouts he sucks and is overrated
  9. Walt says his priority is to trade for an impact bat in the form of a young outfielder that can help us now and in the future. Maybe they'll get somebody who can hit lefties. corey patterson is young and can hit lefties! patterson for pujols and ray king!
  10. i just want to say todd helton is worthless
  11. len mentioning swingers today pretty much cements him as the greatest cubs pbp man ever seriously does he love everything that i love? i swear to kent tomorrow he's gonna rave about reubens
  12. Wait, that sounds like Adam Dunn!....half kidding. Except "high OBP" only describes one of those 2 players.
  13. We need more anti-Sox sites. http://www.barefooters.org/
  14. I think the original post is suggesting we get involved in a 3 way deal that would send Rogers to another contending team, and us possibly netting Mench.
  15. he's a comedian named neil hamburger check him out he's not funny
  16. !!!! I just watched the footage on mlb.tv, and as Dunn was going in the dugout he took off his helmet and did a mock-curtain call! It was great.
  17. Has any player ever given up their all star spot to someone more deserving?
  18. Initially, my response is a resounding NO! But the more I think about it, I might would do a Zambrano for a package that includes Dunn. If I could send Zambrano and Fontenot to the Reds for Dunn, Freel, and Homer Bailey, I would have to really consider that deal. Just simply Zambrano for Dunn, no. On the other hand, I would be willing to send a package of four or five prospects to get him. Step away from the Rocket Sauce. Hahahahaha. [shocking admission]I wouldn't do a Z for Dunn swap either.[/shocking admission]
  19. The Cubs aren't interested in a Hill + Dubois for Huff swap?! Crap, I'd do that in a heartbeat. Hill is nice, but definitely expendable (didn't we draft about 90 LHP with heat?). Tampa Bay is known to have ridiculous asking prices, but I think this is a very fair trade, and the Cubs should jump on it.
  20. I think he said 40,000.
  21. YES YES YES!!!!
  22. That's the worst comparison I've ever heard in my life. Changing topics, I do like the fact that I'm hearing Dunn to the Cubs as a possibility from other sources besides this board's speculation, and sources from Chicago. Seeing Rosenthal throw it out makes me a lot more excited about the possiblities.
  23. that cameraman's got to know when to walk away, and know when to run.
  24. Let's be honest. With Dusty, it will be this. Patterson Neifi Lee Burnitz Ramirez Dunn Walker Barrett Still an improvement, but I have no doubt Dunn is batting 6th in this lineup. Oh well, I guess that's ample protection for Ramirez in Baker's eyes.
  25. I'd even add Dope and maybe even the Gooze to those 3. Do you get a hard on right when you hear the word Dunn, or even done since it's a homonym? :D What a sick, horrible, inappropriate, and disgusting question. The answer's yes.
